I used maybe 9 apples. Enough cinnamon. More than 1/2 teaspoon. I didn't use nutmeg. I used water and I added 1/2 cup. I didn't use sugar. It was good like that. Made for 123 hit wonders. Thanks Kit

This was really great applesauce...the whole family agreed that it was way better than the stuff in the jar. I did have to add much more apple juice than listed, though, as it was too thick and a little dry by the time the apples were tender enough to mash (and I sliced them very thin). Also, the recipe didn't yield 4 cups. Before cooking, yes, but after cooking, less than 1/2 that amount, so there wasn't quite enough to go around. Thanks for posting...I will make this again for sure, I'll just increase the recipe!

Good, basic, apple sauce recipe. Nicely spiced, but a little clove and/or allspice added as well might be a good thing. Like Karen, I only take issue with the amount produced, as it considerably less than 4 cups.

Wow, excellent applesauce and so easy. I added a little lemon juice as I like a semi-tart junky applesauce.
