Though I haven't made your exact recipe, I make these often too. You are right that they are great around the holidays and make great gifts for neighbors, teachers, bus drivers...etc. They look impressive for how easy they are. Also try dipping them in caramel, then rolling in pecans, then dipping in chocolate and drizzling with white chocolate!! Yummy!!

Try drying the rods in a glass instead of on the wax paper. It works GREAT!

We made these to give away, and both my little one's, 2 & 6, were able to help in one way or another. They are SO delicious, keep well, and are fun to make! In addition to the mini-M&M's, we also rolled some of them in crushed honey-roasted peanuts, another batch in toffee bits, and a third batch we dipped in white chocolate and rolled in chopped white macadamia nuts! We plan to make more as Valentine gifts and next will try dipping them in melted cappuccino chips!! Thank you for a really fun and family-friendly as well as tasty recipe!

Sooooo Goooood. We used white chocolate. We left some plain, some rolled in chopped nuts, sprinkles and chopped toffee. A great addition to our holiday trays. However, i have been informed that I cannot wait for the holidays to make these again...LOL Stephanie

An exceptionally easy and fast recipe to make, my family with young children enjoyed both making and eating this treat. We used crushed hard candies in a variety of colors: peppermint, spearimint, butterscotch... The result was similar to rock candy which created a sparkling curiosity standing in a glass cookie jar or on a tray. This is a new family favorite!

Thanks for a great idea! These were easy to make and my 3 year old had a great time helping with the sprinkles! We made some dipped in milk chocolate with sprinkles, some in white chocolate with sprinkles and some with crushed candy cane. These will make a great gift for his preschool teacher! Thanks!

I made these for my daughters kindergarten Christmas party and they were the big hit! They were super easy to make. We rolled them in colored jimmies. Thanks for the great idea!

I made these for a bake sale. I couldnt find the rods so I used the large pretzels. I took everyones suggestions. I used milk chocolate, white chocolates, caramels. I dipped in white chocolates then rolled in crushed peppermint candies. I dipped in caramels and then let them dry on wax paper and then partially dipped them in chocolate. I also bought candy (sorta like a mini mini m & m) and rolled the milk chocolate ones in. I packaged them by the dozen and sold every one of them. These are excellent and were so much fun to watch people walking around eating my snacks at the sale. Thank you!!

I dipped them in chocolate (some in white chocolate), let me set for a while, then rolled them in M&M's, sprinkles, coacoa nut, etc. Then I put them in mason jars (pretty side up) with colored cellophane around them and gave them as gifts for Christmas. Everyone loved them! Thanks for the idea.
