This is a super recipe! DD#1 (the chef) gives it thumbs up so thats a great sign! I did make a couple of changes, used regular can of diced tomatoes and 1/2 and 1/2 as those were all I had. Left out the olives, knew the kids wouldnt eat them. I did brown the sausage in oregano flavored olive oil but found that I had too much grease, so next time will omit that step. The cream will make this dish very rich and the 1/2 and 1/2 seemed just right, but did take a little longer to thinken up. Thanx Danya for one for the keep pile!

Excellent! Even my husband loved it and had seconds.
I used half and half so I had to let it boil a while longer to thicken. I also added a little nutmeg but had to leave out the onion. I didn't use any oil to brown the sausage either. We will be having this again!!

I made this tonight and it was very good. It was a hit with DH and DS too (DDs did not eat it, but I think they would have liked it.) I made some modifications to make it lighter. I used turkey sausage and 1c skim milk and .5c half and half instead of whipping cream. I wasn't sure if it would thicken up, so I sprinkled 1 T of flour after step 2. I used a whole box (1lb) of farfalle - I don't have a scale to know what 12 oz is, and I hate having a portion of pasta left over anyway. This made a HUGE amount. I'd say even with 12oz of pasta it is way more than 4 servings. Using another recipe analyzer, my version of the recipe (I said that it made 6 servings) came out as 512 calories and 15g of fat (2.2 saturated fat). I honestly think it makes closer to 10 servings - 4 of us ate it tonight and there is a whole other meal for 4 left. I served it with a green salad. I will definitely be making this again.

Excellent recipe ! But I have to admit that I did make a couple of changes....I'm trying to watch my cholesterol so the whipping cream was a no-no. I used skim milk instead and thickened the sauce with a bit of cornstarch (mixed into the milk). I also used hot sausages, cut into small pieces! Didn't need to add any other spices except what was listed. This still turned out fabulous. Hubby went back for seconds.....will definitely add this to my keeper list!

This is one of those rare recipes that I wish I could give ten stars! It was very easy to make, the presentation was nice and it tasted great. A winner all the way around. I used penne - it was all I had - and tossed with a little extra parmesan, but otherwise followed the directions exactly.

Don't even look at the nutritional info......just make yourself look like a culinary goddess (or god) and whip this up for dinner! So easy and tasty. Sort of like gourmet Hamburger Helper. Alas, I too, had to leave out the black olives. As much as I love them it's just not worth the pain of having to watch my sweetie pick them out piece by piece with a sour look on his face. I used a hot Italian sausage just because we like all things spicy and canned tomatoes from my summer garden. Make sure you garnish with the chopped parsley and freshly grated parm....it just adds that special touch and dresses it up. That along with a mixed salad and some Italian bread with olive oil and herbs actually makes for a very impressive dinner. Many thanks to Pot Scrubber for what will be a long time favorite in my house.

The flavors were very nice & this was a great weeknight meal. I didn't make any adaptions to the recipe other than using fat free half and half and PAM instead of olive oil. The whole family liked this recipe except for my 2 year old. She asked me to make it only "a little spicy" next time.

Oh my! I used half and half rather than whipping cream and omitted the olives. The sauce was just so good that if I weren't such a lady I would have licked my plate.
