This was delicious! I made this for supper on Saturday night and my husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed it. I followed the recipe pretty much, except for cutting it in half as there are only two of us. I also added a clove of minced garlic when I was sauteeing the meat because we like garlic and I thought it would go well, and it did! Thanks so much for posting! Will make this again. Orignal review was Oct 23/2005. Edited to add: I froze half of this when I originally made it. This freezes excellently and if anything tastes even better after! I reheated it by melting a little butter in a skillet and then crumbling the partially thawed casserole into it, cooking and stirring until it was heated through. We thoroughly enjoyed it, once again!

I loved this. I followed the recipe, but cut it in half. Y'all have to promise not to tell my hubby it has sour cream in it. He thinks he doesn't like sour cream. It was easy, especially since I chopped the cabbage in my food processor, and inexpensive to boot. What more can you ask for. I will make this again

Nice, hearty dish. I used spicy Italian sausage. Next time will add some additional seasonings. I also thought tomato sauce/paste/tomatoes would be nice (like a stuffed cabbage. Unusual and good.

Easy one dish meal with a couple of ingredients. I did add chopped fresh herbs. My son topped it with ketchup! Kinda like eating unstuffed stuffed cabbage without the rice.

Looking at the recipe I thought the 2 cups of cheese was going to be too much, but I was wrong. The flavor was wonderful, my husband and I both had seconds and I'm looking forward to leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The dish was not very attractive though and I thought the topping needed something besides plain breadcrumbs...maybe some more cheese.

This is a wonderfully inexpensive and tasty dish! I used part red cabbage and part green, so it was also very colorful. And I used venison, so there was no grease to drain, but then had to add water with the cabbage as I did not want my cabbage browned. My daughter helped me shred the cheese so I ended up with a cup too much, so put it on top and decreased the bread crumbs. Thanks for another delicious and easy recipe!

I was not going to make this at first. So I boiled my cabbage with water and rotel. Then I decided I would give this ole recipe a try. I drained the cabbage. Then I added my browned beef with the onions and garlic to the cabbage. Then I added 1 cup sour cream and 2 1/2 cups cheese to the mixture. then sprinkled with the bread crumbs! My husband who hates cabbage and can not stand to look at it, ate 2 bowls of this yummy stuff! Anyone who loves cabbage this is to die for, the ones who hate cabbage you have to give this a try! If I could I would give this recipe 20 stars!!!! Will make this on a regular bases! Thanks so much. Made this last night and left out the meat, and it still was to die for!

Made this tonight, and it was absolutely delicious. We are vegetarian, and I substituted veggie burger crumbles for the ground meat instead of the suggested bulgur wheat. If you do this, be sure to add a little oil to the browning pan, as the crumbles do not release fat like real meat does. It turned out perfectly ~ husband and kids deemed it "a keeper."

Excellent dish! I too was amazed that such a simple recipe could have such wonderful flavor. I used ground turkey as the meat and it was wonderful. Very creamy and flavorful. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe.

Great. I'm always looking for new ways to fix cabbage. Needed to use up some ground pork and found this. I'm glad I tried it, the taste was wonderful. Thanks for posting it.
