This is a great way to fix broccoli. I used fresh broccoli crowns which were separated into flowerets, rinsed and put in a microwave safe dish. I did not add the water and the garlic was thinly sliced and cooked along with the broccoli. I reduced the oil to 1 tablespoon, lightly sprinkled the dish with salt and used 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Something I know I will do again.

A delicious, simple and quick microwave recipe for those all too frequent occasions when you don’t have a lot of time, and want something tastier than steamed vegetables. I used fresh garlic and omitted the pepper flakes (personal preference), and added a small sprinkling of cumin which worked well. Just loved the lemony flavour too. Thanks for a really fabulous recipe, which I know I’ll be making often.

Fast easy and we couldnt keep from picking at it before dinner. My only worry was the salt seems to be too much. I only used 1/2 t. and it was a tad too much even with that adjustment. Yummy though, better then plain ole broccoli with butter!

Wonderfully tasty way to get broccoli into a recalcitrant husband or children. I used half broc, half cauliflower. It was fantastic.

We loved this take on broccoli! I made just as the recipe says, using the fresh minced garlic. Next time I'll probably just steam the broccoli on the stove top (just as easy). Thanks!

Very good and very easy. I, like the reviewer below, used fresh broccoli and it was great. I didn't use the red pepper flakes. We eat A LOT of broccoli and this was a nice change of pace.

Very, very nice! I used fresh broccoli and fresh garlic and although I thought the garlic might be a bit overpowering, it turned out great. Thanks for a great recipe that revs up boring broccoli!

I hate broccoli, and so am desperate to find ways to make it palatable (because of health concerns). This was WONDERFUL. We used 6 garlic cloves, which was just fine. Next time I'll cut the olive oil and salt in half, just to make it a little healthier — but the lemon/garlic combination was unbeatable.

Excellent! Delicious, simple and flavorful! What else could you want? Sure beats the usual "broccoli in butter" that I've made for my kids for years! Definite keeper — so easy to make, yet so impressive! Thanks for sharing!
