12 Reviews of Super Duper Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment for Damaged Hair

From: Littlemomma

On Jul 13, 2006

here is a way i do use this.... brush hair first, then use a big toothed comb (kind you use with conditioner in shower) & spread the mixture through my hair all the way to the end... next i either bard or twist my hair & clip it with a barrette on top of my head then put a shower cap on topthen take a hot wash cloth wrung out & put it on top then follow with a dry towel. when done i jut take everything off & step into the shower & let the water rinse of very warm water & comb through just like i was conditionoing.. then follow with a cold rinse... hope this helps some others out there as it helps be able to really rinse the hair out with the very warm water to be able to comb through.. also i like to take a relaxing soak bath while waiting to treatmet & ican always use the rinse the tub out at the same time with the shower afterwards...

This did make my hair very shiny, but it was not easier to comb through. I thought that this definitely worked and was much cheaper than a store bought deep conditioner. However, store bought deep conditioners are a little more pleasant looking and smelling than this one! But it did do the trick and at less than half the price, I will use this again! thanks!

I swear by this treatment ... as far as the combing problems ... I have curly hair so I do not comb my hair anyway ... but it is always light and soft when I do this ... I love it ... I did not know the fact about the cold water sealing the hair ... good one! thanks ... E

Make sure you use REAL MAYO - not low fat or anything else, it has to say real to work the best. This is also an AMAZING way to kill lice - my daughter had lice over and over again and the chemical cures can cause brain damage - My doc said use real mayo for at least 6-8 hours and they were GONE!! Plus her hair was soft and shiny! For conditioning do this at least once a month - more if you need it.

The only thing missing with this recipe was whether to apply to wet or dry hair. I opted to apply it to dry hair and I followed another user's suggestion of cutting the recipe down so I only used 1 egg (etc.). On dry hair I used the whole batch-- and my hair is pretty short. I put this on in the evening and after rinsing out went to bed when my hair was still slightly damp. In the morning I shampood and my hair was super soft. Even 3 days later it feels great!
