What a marvelous indulgence. I used whole wheat rotini and cut the butter back to 2T just to save a few. This is so rich with cheese I don't think I'd even notice if I were to use fat free evaporated milk next time. I thought the seasoning was perfect and the creamy texture was to-die-for.

I found this okay but will not make it again. The flavor was not comfort food enough for our family. The mustard and hot sauce just didn't work for us.

Out of 7 kids, 4 loved it, and 3 didn't like it. My 5 yo said it tasted like eggs. I might try this one again but double everything except the eggs. Thanks.

Yet another reason to ADORE Alton Brown. This recipe was so delicious and so easy to make! I used an entire 16 oz. box of elbow macaroni and 3 cups of shredded cheese and it still was creamy and cheesy. My boyfriend and I loved it! Thanks for posting!

Mmmmmm mmmmmm! This is delicious! I grew up on boxed mac and cheese, but like many folks I'm trying to seriously reduce my intake of processed foods. As much as I ADORE baked mac and cheese, my husband and I both frequently want mac and cheese spontaneously. This is the perfect recipe for quick, yummy mac and cheese! My husband went back for seconds... I don't think I've ever seen him do that before! I've made it successfully with both dry mustard and regular mustard. I put however much cheese looks good to me, usually about 8 oz. I've used cheddar, a melting blend, monterey, colby, mexican blend... It's a great way to use up all those handfuls of shredded cheeses that always haunt my deli drawer. I'm never going to touch boxed mac and cheese again!

I was in a pinch because my extremely picky 8 year old wanted mac and cheese and I had no boxed ones on hand. I decided to give this a try and he loved it! I didnt tell him it wasnt boxed but he gobbled it all up and asked for seconds. I used white pepper instead of black pepper (for fear of being busted). I also used whole grain macaroni and 2% kraft cheese.

my 17 month old daughter was enjoying every bite, and so was I! Very rich - I couldn't even finish one plate. But then, rich is good, when it comes to mac and cheese.

The recipe is well written, easy to folow, with not too many ingredients. I thought it tasted too cheesy, but the rest of my family thought it was good. I think next time I may increase the amount of macaroni. Thank you.

I really liked this. I did however leave out the hot sauce and added about a tsp of Garlic pepper. Nice and creamy and really easy to make!
