Wow, these were delicious! My husband and I added pepperoni onto the dough with just mozzarella cheese (this time
, the cheese mix you have listed sounds delicious too!) and they were outstanding! Next time, I need to do a better job of making the crust thinner throughout and keeping the toppings thick all the way to the edges, but your directions for these were just great, Charlotte, and the cooking time was right on to the second! The calzones came out golden and the cheese melted perfectly! It was especially helpful having the tinfoil on the pan from the start. It made it so easy when it came time to cover the calzone, saving us a lot of hassle trying to get under the pizza. We had also lightly sprinkled some thyme and a few shreds of mozzarella cheese on the very top of the folded over calzone before baking, which I really recommend, and we served it with hot pizza sauce for dipping! Yum! Thanks for the great recipe!!!

this was delicious! we even had a neighbor pop in during dinner and once she sampled the calzone, she couldnt leave! the only thing was that it took about 10mins longer to cook than indicated. it might have been my brand of dough though.

My husband wished out loud that we had some calzones. It was almost dinnertime, so I went the fridge and using your recipe had awesome calzones in the oven in just five minutes. I did a bit of changing based on what I had, but I used your cheese and sauce measurements exact and it was a perfect amount. I was so happy you said to use the sauce as a dip because the calzones were not too gooey or soggy. I used a tube of refrigerated breadstick dough, laid out one strip of four, pressed it into the pan, then added your cheese mixture on top. Then I sprinkled some oregano and basil on top and a tsp of jarred garlic in olive oil. I put on top of that some leftover raw spinach leaves, then topped the spinach with pepperoni slices, then placed the remaining four squished breadsticks as the "lid,"cutting it into two big calzones and sealing all edges with a fork. Baked as you recommended, but it never needed covering (maybe the breadstick dough is different). fantastic, easy, tasty! My husband felt spoiled and I was happy to be able to almost magically make calzones appear. I served it with a salad where I just threw some hearts of romaine in with a few red beans, pine nuts, and carrot shreds and pomegranite seeds. It sounds weird, and again was what we had in the fridge, but the whole thing was great!

These were absolutely horrible. I followed the recipe exactly. The taste was bland inside and after baking them for only 12 minutes the side resting against the tin foil and cooking spray (step 8) ended up burning. I feel bad rating recipe so low when others have it as outstanding but for us we would have preferred at the very least for it not to have been burned on the one side.

We all enjoyed the great combo of cheeses in this calzone. I used a homemade pizza dough and sauce. I think I might try adding some chopped veggies and canadian bacon to the cheese mixture next time. Easy, Cheesey goodness!

The filling was very good, although it could use more mozzarella — but what couldn't?
We mainly used the recipe as a guideline — we baked as directed on a stone in the bottom of the oven and did not need to cover — turned out perfectly. Thanks!

These were pretty good. There was no need to cover though. Made a half batch (only one calzone) and added some italian seasoning blend to the cheese mixture. This needs something, just not sure what it is... Salt maybe? Will try again and add fillings in addition to the cheese.
