Excellent. A delicious yet easy to make main dish chowder. DH asked if I could make bacon and potato chowder after having it for lunch at a restaurant. He liked your version best! I made the recipe as directed with lean thick sliced bacon, full fat evaporated milk and a bit of white pepper. DH woke up in wee hours of the night and just had to go downstairs for some more - cold straight from the fridge. Thanks Kat for this lovely recipe.

The chowder was great! I didn't have evap. milk so I used heavy whipping cream. YUM! I also cut up the bacon prior to frying, which worked well. The chowder tasted even better the next day!

I made this for lunch today for the kids. I was hoping for leftovers for dinner but it all disappeared. I made it exactly as directed with the exception that I did not add the bacon to the pot. Instead I added to each bowl so that it would remain crisp. This was very easy to make and will definitely make it again. Thanks for the recipe.

Great recipe! Filling as a main course with salad or as an appetizer. My company and family loved it!

Very good! I don't like bouillon cubes (too salty and has an "off" flavor) so I subbed 3 cups of chicken broth. The flour did not thicken it much, so I added in some cornstarch. Used only 3 slices of bacon and waited until the soup was completely done before stirring in. Very good, thick and creamy potato soup that is even more special with shredded cheddar and chives.

This was really tasty, however I didn't know if or when you should add the bacon, so I added it with the potatoes, it was so creamy yumm..
