These scones are excellent!!! They are much better than the ones I get at Starbuck's. I followed the recipe except I made the following changes: I used "lite" (reduced fat) sour cream. Also, I added 1/2 c. Hershey's cinnamon chips. Thanks for the fantastic recipe. I will be baking these often!

These were pretty fabulous! I added about 1/3 c cinnamon chips from the Bakers catalog, I think they are from King Aurthur flour co. They are mini chips and they melt into the scones instead of staying in a blob like the ones from Hershey's. I cooked them for the least amount of time, which to some might be under done but they are so nice and moist that way! After baking I glazed them with powdered sugar/water/vanilla and then sprinkled the cinnamon sugar on top. I will make these often, thanks for a great recipe!

I made your maple scones and just had to try these too they looked so good. Delicious, just like the cookies. I added some chopped walnuts and it was a great addition. Michelle

Charmie, these oughta be illegal. I made 3 batches of these last night to take to work today. I got some very quick help from the message boards that really help clear up for me what a scone should look like (I had never tasted one, or let alone made one). Anyway, these are to die for. I tasted a smal corner just to be sure, and all the ohh's and ahhh's at work confirmed my thoughts. I served this with a fruit salad and a fruit dip. Amazing. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Very tender and tasty, we all enjoyed them very much. Followed recipe exactly; next time I may try some additives such as nuts, (if I can find them) the Hershey cinnamon chips I keep hearing about but have never seen in a store, and/or dried fruit. The cinnamon sugar on top was a good touch. Thanks for this recipe; as a cinnamon lover, it was perfect!

Excellent scones! I made just as instructed except substituted half Splenda for the sugar. They turned out tender and delicious. My whole family enjoyed them so this is definitely a keeper!

This, too, was my first scone recipe. I have had them in restaurants, but never at home. These were wonderful! The batter came together very easily and I had everything on hand. I separated my batter in half, so I could have 16 pieces. They were the perfect size for my boys (who ate three apiece). The hardest part was cutting the pieces and separating them. I just sprayed a metal spatula and cut and pushed until there was room between the pieces. Mine cooked for 20 minutes and were great warm or cold. The boys ate them plain. I had mine with sweet orange marmalade. Out of this world! Will definitely make again!! Thanks! UPDATE! Made this THREE days in a row. Family could not get enough. Neighbor thought they were absolutely heavenly. Hope the change goes in for five stars ax I almost ran out of sour cream before everyone would let me stop making these. Just a thought. The second time I made these, the batter was a little dryer. The end product was more crumbly and dry. Definitely like the batter sticky and moist, so that as my neighbor said, "They practically melt in your mouth." Thanks again, for a definite keeper!!

Very Light and cinnamony almost like a cake in texture. This made a wonderful late night snack with a glass of milk. I can't wait until the morning when I can heat one in the microwave for breakfast. Thanks for sharing your recipe Captain Charmie. Made for Zaar World Tour III.
