I made these for a get together last night, and they were a big hit! Very yummy! "Like a tiny taco!" my husband commented. Not hard to make, though frying them in small batches is a bit time consuming (but worth it.) It did take me longer than the 45 mins mentioned in the recipe. I made these as directed and prepared/cooked half a batch. With the other half of the filling that was left, I added half of a 4 oz. can of diced jalapenos, then finished frying them. This second batch was on the spicy side. The spicy won ton oles went the fastest at the get-together (they were spicy, but not TOO hot), so I will probably prepare them that way next time. Served them with a side of salsa. Will definitely make again.

Made these today to go with football. Much easier even then they sound and VERY good. Hubby and Grandson went nuts over them. I made some as stated, some with just cheese. I'll be using these ALOT. Not a big difference but I used ground sirloin instead of ground beef, really the same. Thanks for sharing yet another winner.

We loved these "Chexican" morsels! I made the meat without salsa, water or taco seasoning. I just used garlic salt, green chile, beans and cheese with the meat, and they turned out great. (We served them with the salsa on the side.) I am new to cooking with wonton wrappers and have found that they are great to work with and great to eat! Thanks so much, Charmie, for posting this recipe.

What a great idea! I loved these! Serve w/ sour cream and guaucamole. I had round wrappers so I put filling on 1 and then topped with another wrapper and sealed. Made very large puffs. Absolutely delicious.

These were really nice. My little brother fell in love with them, he kept calling them litte Krispy tacos. They are a bit time comsuming because the frying takes a some time, but the end result is very plesant. I wonder if I can spray some spam on the won toms and bake them to make them healthier? Has any one ever baked a wonton before? I saved a few from frying, so I will try to bake them and report back tomorrow.

Charmie, sooo good. Made these and they were gone in a flash. Use plain ole Ranch dressing and Picante sauce for 2 dippings choices. Delicious recipe; will make often.

What can I say, this recipe is definitely a prizewinner! I made this for an appetizer contest at a function and I won! I didn't make many changes except skip the chilies and use the mexican-blend of 3 cheeses instead of just monterey jack. I also made half with just bean and cheese alone for the many vegetarians that attended. Thanks a lot charmie!

I really loved these little wonton bites. The flavors were really great. I wrapped them into more of a wonton shape and served them with salsa, sour cream and Easy Guacamole (#314831). This was part of my Mexican Fiesta night in which I also served Corn and Black Bean Quesadillas (#293349) and Cheesy Salsa Rice (#161522). Made for ZWT5.

Wonderful. Just what I have been looking for. I halved the recipe and used up all of the wonton wrapers and still had filling left over so I used small tortillas and rolled them up like cigars! I may never go back to Taco Time again, it kicked their crisp meat burrito's a**!!!! I thought they needed a little more crunch to the filling so I added 1/4c finely diced raw onion and 1/4c finely diced red pepper after the cooling stage. And i found the cheese strings kept sticking out of the wrappers so I just mixed the cheese right into the filling once it had cooled. Can't wait to see the boys reaction tonight, bringing it over to my boyfriend's brothers house for the UFC fight tonight! Thanks Charmie!
