Absolutely FIVE STARS! I don't even like bananas, and I'm LOVING this pie!! I made this pie for a pie auction at church. My husband saw me making it and told me he would be buying it back. He did, and it cost him $40! He LOVES it!!! After ruining one try of step #5, I started over and used an electric hand-held mixer to "whisk" the pudding and milk together. I found that there is so little milk to pudding that the first time, even after folding in the Cool Whip, it was very grainy instead of smooth. The second time, after using the hand mixer, it was velvety smooth. Thankfully I had enough pudding and Cool Whip to try again! Oh, and I sprinkled the top of the pie w/ground nutmeg for eye-appeal. This pie was just so refreshing!! RICH, but refreshing!! Thank you, Diennia Bennett! ~Jeff's Girl Way Out West

Very easy to make. Made some very minor changes. I used a 1/4 cup of chopped graham cracker along with the pecans and the butter instead of the flour. Made a cup of powered sugar with Splenda and used a food processor. And used 1/3 less fat cream cheese and one box of 6 servings sugar free pudding. Wow, was this good. The wife took one bite and said "This is great". So I know when she said that...it was super good. I promise I will be making this again. Told the wife if the pie is all gone when I get home from work...we are fighting!!!!

WOW!!!!!! This pie was so simple and fast to make and yet soooooooo good. I used (2) 3.4 oz packages of instant vanilla pudding but i also used 3/4 cup of milk instead of just 1/2 cup to make it a little smoother. I also put this into a premade graham crust which was very good. Next time will try a 'nilla wafer crust (yummy). Thanks for sharing this one it is a real crowd pleaser!!!!!!!!

I too had trouble with this. I had to use 2 (3.4 oz.) boxes pudding mix also. I had a hard time with it and added a Tbl. more of milk. It still needed maybe another 2 tsp., though. I also used banana flavored pudding. I really liked the bottom part, though. Thought it needed to be in the bigger crust, too. The 9 oz. 10" one. Or 10" homemade. Maybe with an extra layer of bananas on the bottom. These are just my opinions, though.
All in all it was pretty good.
Thanks very much!

Other than adding a little more milk to the pudding (like 1/4 cup more, no big deal) I found this recipe to be SUPERB! I used low fat cream cheese, one box sugarfree fat free vanilla pudding (the large box is 1.5 oz, 3 one cup servings) and fat free cool whip. Everyone raved and said it was the best banana pie they had ever had. I put a little lemon juice on the bananas to keep them from browning and I used a ready made graham cracker crust. This made a really pretty high pie.

I gotta tell you, this is hands down the BEST banana cream pie I have ever had the pleasure of indulging in. I'm 7 months pregnant and was really craving a smooth and creamy pie, and my oh my, this hit the spot BIG TIME! All of us absolutley loved it. Thank you for a great recipe and God Bless.

This was yummy and easy. Next time I will only use a 3.5 oz pudding mix, though... because the topping was very, very sweet... I think minimizing the mix would make it perfect. Thanks for the great recipe.

The taste was great, even if it didn't look the way I wanted
Things to take note of next time: (1) make sure nuts (I used walnuts instead of pecans) are really finely chopped so you have a better looking crust; (2) use 2 bananas instead of 3; (3) try using a 10" cake pan instead of a pie plate so you don't have to have crust on the sides (it came out too thick for me); (4) use 1 regular package pudding mix (a 3 oz sachet would do) because I had to put in more milk and cool whip than what was required with 6 oz.

This was my first time making a cream pie and a great success and a hit with everybody. I bought a shortbread crust which went well with the filling, used banana flavoured instant pudding for more oompf and decorated it with chocolate shavings. There is only one way to describe this pie and that is "morish", after one bite you would just want more and more and more!!!
