Yum!! I made this to the recipe except I used half cream and half water. To serve I lined a small bowl with plastic wrap and spooned in the colcannon...turned it upside down and had lovely mounds of yummy mash!! Served with Honey Glazed Corned Beef #167792 and mustard sauce #54122. Great meal.

Wonderful comfort food and I enjoyed this a lot! I used pre-packaged shredded cabbage, country bacon, and baking potatoes. Added a bit of salt and when serving, ground some fresh black pepper on top.

Very much enjoyed. Not much not to like - the cabbage and bacon were delightful stirred into the creamy mash. I did use half a regular cabbage as Savoy was unavailable here. Still delicious.

Not rating yet but I did want to comment that I'm glad that folks are posting great-sounding ethnic recipes like this. I do wish that posters would put more family background into the descriptions but one can't have everything! I'll be making this soon. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Nice recipe- I was craving this when I heard we were going to Ireland for the World Tour. So glad you posted it! I used turkey bacon as I do not do pork and it came out wonderfully. I also only made half the recipe as I am the only one in my house who would eat cabbage. Their loss! The left overs will make a nice lunch for tomorrow.

What a treat. I had seen this prepared on TV from a kitchen in Ireland. The only change I made was I added some blanched green onions. This is not just a St. Patrick's Day dish; I agree any time is good for an Irish gal like me! Thanks for a making our holiday special.

Made this for the Eire part of Virtual Culinary Cruise :British Isles and Ireland. I have made colcannon before and this recipe was one I will make again, the smoky bacon and cabbage mixed with the fluffy creamy potato was delicious. The only change I made was to peel the potatoes before I boiled them and used milk instead of cream - personal preference.

This was a wonderful addition to our St. Patty's Day feast / party we had tonight. Our store did not have double cream, so I used heavy cream instead. We really enjoyed this.

This was DELICIOUS! I wanted to eat the whole pot, but instead served it with Bluemoon's Huey's Beef in Guinness Huey's Beef in Guinness, which was OUTSTANDING! A perfect meal for St Patty's day or ANY day of the year. A keeper! Thanks Bluemoon!
