Yuuuuummmmy !!! more than 5 stars yummy
This is comfort food, easy, simple, basic, honest and quick. This mega simple recipe may just be a recipe to make me into as big a pasta fan as my DH. He always makes pasta sans sauce and I find it sooo boring... now THIS recipe comes to my rescue... easy to make when you are in a hurry, I cooked it a bit longer so that the sauce reduced and became nice and thick, added it to a steaming heap of spagetti ... took it to the table and practically inhaled it
If you have mince meat (ground meat) in your fridge and you are looking for a new twist instead of the "same old, same old..." especially on budget, then this recipe is it. I used cheap canned tomatoes, and substituted beadcrumbs in the meatballs since we don't have matzo meal here and it turned out great. This is definiately a store cupboard meal that you could make for unexpected guests,or teenage kids who seemingly have hollow legs and if you are careful with the chili, it's fussy eater friendly and most of all, amost laughingly easy to make. That definiately constitutes a very well deserved 5 stars in my book
Many Thanks for posting the recipe.

I love quick and easy recipes and this certainly is one. A trick I learnt long ago was to always use wet hands to roll meatballs. When rolling out the meatballs I found the ground beef was very fatty so instead of cooking in the sauce I grilled (broiled) the meatballs to drain some fat, then cooked them in the sauce for about 5 minutes before serving. Excellent tasting sauce, infact I kept looking for the pineapple! (it doesn't need it). Thanks for posting a keeper for our family

I gave this to a friend who gave it flying colors and now I'm doing the same! I followed the recipe except that I used Splenda's brown sugar blend (only 1/4 cup) and it was great. Smelled nice while cooking. Made it and then put it in a crockpot to keep warm until dinner. Served it with Farfale (bowtie) pasta. Thanks for an easy and delicious meal!

I made this quite awhile ago and thought it was great. I kept telling my gf that we were having spaghetti and meatballs. This was an error on my part. This has a different flavor than spaghetti and meatballs, but it is such a good recipe! Enjoy! Thank you for posting!

I used variation 1: canned crushed tomatoes + oregano, pepper, marjoram and parsley. DH loved it (usually very picky) and my 1 year old cheerfully ate it when he was sick with the flu and wouldn't eat a thing! This has definitely become a keeper - in fact, I'm planning to make it for Rosh Hashana as it will definitely please everybody!

DH gave this five stars! We loved the sauce. I think the meatballs could use a little more flavor so I'll add some extra spices and/or onion next time. I used whole wheat bread crumbs in place of the matzo. Also, I didn't have bottled chili sauce so I used the homemade recipe (offered as a substitution when you click on the name of the ingredient). I think this really added to the flavor as there's some ground clove in it and that flavor really came out. Added a little cornstarch to thicken the sauce. We served this over jasmine rice. Loved it. Quick, easy, delicious... our 3-year-old gobbled it up. Thanks!

This sauce was quick and very easy to make. I had dinner on the table within 30 minutes (Using my small ice cream scoop to form the meatballs was a time-saver). It was pretty tasty, although perhaps a bit heavy on the chili sauce flavor. Thanks for posting!

So easy and quick to make! This one is a winner. I too used breadcrumbs instead of the matzo meal. The chilli sauce I used was very hot so next time I wont use the full amount but will use some canned tomatoes as well as a small amount of the chilli sauce. This recipe has lots of possibilities. Thanks for posting

the meatballs were great! I followed the recipe exactly and simmered the meatballs for about an hour or so. Instead of spaghetti, I used brown rice. I would also try egg noodles with this. Thanks!

Hmm, not sure what to say about these meatballs. They were very interesting! The flavor of sweet and sour spaghetti was so different to me (and my husband) that I think we both had the funniest looks on our faces when we tried this! The texture of the meatballs was great. I used 1 can of tomatoes and half a can chili sauce along with the other ingredients. The sauce was just so strange! I'm sorry we didn't care for it- wait, that's not true- we just thought is was such a very odd flavor to have with spaghetti! Is this a good or bad review??? I don't know!!!
