This are the greaest breakfast treat ever and it was so easy to make. I'm 12 years old and I made it for my family & they loved them. They ask me when I am going to cook them every day. LOL! if only i could make 1 million of them they might stop asking. Gotta go.

These are awesome little breakfast treats! I made up a batch using 5 slices of Texas Toast, and froze it immediately. This is a great breakfast when we are on the go or busy, and my daughter likes them before School. I just pop them in the oven for a few minutes, and serve them with Maple Syrup for dipping and some fresh fruit, and it's breakfast in 5 minutes! Thanks for a wonderful recipe that I will be making again and again!

Mmmm! This is a big hit with my husband and my three year old son! I omitted the nutmeg for personal preference and made with whole slices of bread instead of sticks. I used bread with added nutrients for my son. It freezes wonderfully.

I've made these twice now. I flash freeze and then throw five of them in a sandwhich bag with a couple of already cooked sausage links. They are stacked in the freezer and my DS grabs one, nukes it and has a healthy, quick, hot breakfast and I can still catch a few zzzzz's while it is happening. He says these taste WAY better than the ones I have been known to pick up out of the frozen food section. I like I can control the ingredients.

These were so delicious! I loved the maple syrup in the mixture. It gave them a great flavor. Usually my daughter dips french toast sticks in maple syrup, but these have enough of the flavor to skip this and it keeps her cleaner! Wonderful recipe and very easy to make. I wasn't able to get a full 32 strips out of the mixture though. I got about half and then made up another batch to finish off the bread I had already sliced. I will be making these up for the freezing cause I know they are a kid pleaser (the adults in my family gave them a big thumbs up as well) and will make breakfast so much easier.

This is a great breakfast for my 2yr old. He usually will not eat homemade french toast sticks, he prefers store bought. He loved these though, I'll be making these often. Also, you really don't need syrup as there is syrup already in it so there is no sticky cleanup after he eats! But I would suggest doubling the egg mix, when following the recipe, I only had enough to make half of the recipe. And use a thicker bread like texas toast, when I first tried this I used white sandwich bread which was a huge mistake, they all fell apart. But this is an excellent recipe, thank you Pamela for making my life a little easier!

October 2007: These were so good fresh & after reading other reviews about not having any left over we made a double batch to make sure we had some to freeze. We have found that they are good both in the toaster & in the microwave. I'm sure they'd be great in the oven but no one wants to wait long enough to heat it up! My one year old loved being able to eat one (without syrup) while toddling around the kitchen. My DH & teenage son just plain loved them. Better than store-bought & better than drive-thru. Thanks for the keeper! UPDATE November 19, 2007: It's been one month & we've tried them in the oven (delish) & today DD & I put some from the freezer into the toaster on the #4 setting (I use #3 for toast) & they were nicely crunchy on the outside & soft & hot on the inside. Very impressed with this recipe! Thanks again! Update May 24, 2009: We are still loving this recipe. For some reason I thought the original recipe called for Texas Toast, which I almost always use, but sometimes I just use the batter on regular bread & I did that this morning & finally got a photo I wanted to share. Next time I make the sticks I'll photograph those too. I do always use the Texas Toast for the sticks as they are nice & thick.

This is very good. I have a daycare and this works well for little hands. I used my griddle for these, sprayed it with Pam and omitted the butter. I got about 6 slices out of the batter and tripled the recipe to use a whole loaf of Texas Toast. I plan to freeze the rest for some easy quick breakfast. Thanks fror posting another great recipe.

Since I was making this for OAMC I tripled this recipe. I lined a 3 tier cooling rack with the bread early this a.m. Though I'm sure my goats would have loved to have the bread crusts I chose to do this french toast style rather than 'sticks'. I lined these on a large cookie sheet separating the layers with parchment paper, and they are in the freezer. When they are frozen I will cut that used parchment paper and use that to separate the layers in freezer bags. When ready to reheat I will toast them in the toaster. Though I haven't sampled these yet, I tasted some of the carmelized edges and it was veeerrry good.

These were YUMMY! Didn't have icing sugar, subbed in granulated sugar...Doubled the cinnamon, halved the nutmeg and skipped the brown sugar...Used whole wheat Wonder bread and did whole slices instead of making 'sticks'...It was so delectable that I ate 4 slices before I knew it! UPDATE: I pulled out some these that were frozen from the first batch and popped them still frozen into the toaster...After about 2 minutes they were ready to eat and just as delectable as they were before freezing! This one's going into permanent breakfast OAMC rotation for sure...Thanks for posting the recipe!
