One bit of advice for anyone making this dish — and you should — make extra onions. Scaled this recipe down to two and prepared as directed, albeit with a little less oil and flour. While I really enjoyed the chops, the onions with thier beefy-beer gravy were just divine. I used a regular beer but I think it would work better with a darker more full bodied variety. Thanks Beck!

These Schweinekotelett in Zwiebelsosse were just fabulous. I made only a few small adjustments. I added 3 cloves of chopped garlic with the onions, and I followed Rita’s suggestion of adding apple (apple always goes so well with pork; I used a Granny Smith apple, unpeeled, thinly sliced) and I used my Vegetable Stock Vegetable Stock in place of the beef broth. The beer (and I’m not a beer drinker) added a great flavour; just a bit of a dilemma as to what to do with the rest of the beer. I’ve put it in the freezer. Only time will tell whether it’s okay next time I make a recipe with beer in it! All the flavours blended superbly. It’s a great recipe, Beck D. perhaps now you’ll give it a try!

We had this tonight for dinner and it was fabulous. I was a little worried the beer flavor would be too strong but it was perfect. In fact, had it not been there the dish wouldn't have been nearly as tasty. We didn't change a thing from the recipe. I'll be making this again and again. Thanks for posting.

Delicious. DH and I both rated this a thumbs up, 5 star, A+, etc. Used coarse ground black pepper and a little garlic powder and it couldn't have been better.

I followed the recipe to a T except I substituted chicken broth for the beef broth. When hot the chops were tender and the sauce was good.

I would never have thought that these ingredients would make such a tasty dish! I only had a pork fillet on hand so used that (took it out of the pan about 8 minutes after adding the beer and broth - returned it for the last couple of minutes). Easy and packed with flavour - served with mashed garlic potatoes, glazed carrots and Brussels Sprouts They Will Eat Them...bacon Parmesan Brussels Sprouts. Thanks for another winner Beck!

This was pretty good. I thought it would turn out too oniony but they were soft and yummy with the sauce. Plenty to pour over potatoes, too.

I think I can say, this is about the best pork chop recipe. I did use 1 cup each of the broth & beer. wanted more gravy. and did cook a bit longer. It was wonderful. Thanks, for this recipe Tebo.
