Have had this salad before, but now I can make it too! It was so good..... I left the salad dressing on the side, as some prefer ranch dressing around here and used regular tortilla chips instead of doritos, but it was yummy just the same. Next time I will add kidney beans or black beans and I might just leave the meat out! Thanks for the great recipe!

Delicious!!! My husband loved it. Truly a recipe that you can just eyeball the quantity you want to your own preference. Kept them separate and served up individually so all stayed fresh and leftovers were able to be made up like it was just made for the first time. Did place beef in microwave about 20 sec so it was room temperature and not chilled. Daughter Kelly Cant wait to have it again. thank you!!!!!

There is something about that Catalina dressing that makes for an awesome taco salad. Sounds strange, but it really works! I used crushed Fritos and topped with a bit of fresh salsa as well. Mmmmmm.....My kids can't get enough of this.

My family has made Taco Salad like this for years (plus or minus a few of the ingredients) and it is sooo good. We use either Catalina or French and another favorite of mine is to take equal parts of ranch dressing and Pace Picante sauce and mix together well. This makes another fabulous dressing for taco salads. Thanks for sharing.

Really like this recipe. It is great for a potluck. Always gets finished off. I also have used cut up ham instead of hamburger meat when I didn't feel like cooking at all. I also add kidney beans. And I usually use 2 bottles of dressing.

This was so great! Made it for a Cinco de Mayo dinner at my moms on Sunday. I cut the recipe down by about 3/4. My sister was complaining about starting her 'diet' - so I used fat free catalina, a little less cheese, and only about a cup of crushed doritos. The flavors worked together so well. Beautiful salad too! Colorful! Going to make it again this Friday for a potluck at work! Thanks! Update: EVERYTIME I make this, people ask me for the recipe. So popluar!

You were right! Everyone loved this salad at the luncheon I had! I tweaked it a bit - used grilled chicken instead of beef and served guacamole on the side instead of putting avocado in. I also added two cans of black beans and two cans of Mexicorn. It was awesome and everyone wanted the recipe. Thanks for making a lot of people very happy!

Delicioso... I used less of the onions and much less of the salad dressing. But hey, to each his own! I can't figure out what makes this better than taco salad I used to make, but it really is wonderful. I served this at Book Club with margaritas and every last shred was gone in 30 minutes. Gracias!

This salad is fantastic! I made it exactly as written, except I omitted the olives as I don't care for them, and cut the recipe down to feed 4 people. The Catalina was an excellent addition! I topped it all with Kitten's Creamy Guacamole #71842 and it worked great together! Another winner. Thanks Kitten!

I made this for a family winter party. We have them after the 1st of the year. (Our family has grown so much that we no longer have Christmas parties together because we are all so busy.) This was the hit of the party, a real crowd pleaser. I made as directed. I just kept everyting in separate containers and threw it all together right before we ate. I did leave out the chips, just served them on the side so that nothing got soggy. Kittencal you have done it again! Thanks.
