I came across this recipe while viewing the reviews and wanted to review and rate this recipe.
This is the only way I pop popcorn. I think it is ten times better than microwave or air popped.
What I usually do is basically the same as this recipe says but I add my butter in with the oil and popcorn. I also do something totally different, I mix together seasoning salt, black pepper, salt and alittle Greek seasoing salt and sprinkle on hot popcorn after put into a large bowl. Its awesome!
Thanks for sharing this recipe here at zaar! Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.

Yes this is the way to do it. I use coconut oil, (refined so no coconut flavor)and since this oil is so light, it give the popcorn no oily taste. Movie theaters use coconut oil exclusively and in recent years coconut oil has been redeemed as an actually healthy product. I also skip the lid, and use a splatter screen instead to let all of the steam escape, because a tight fitting lid will yield tougher popcorn, and it seemed that I always got some soggy pieces from my lid catching the steam.

Yum! I used canola oil for this and it turned out perfect! For the topping, I melted 4TB butter with some garlic salt (can't remember how much, probably more than most people prefer since I love garlic!) in the microwave and drizzled the popcorn with it, shaking as I went (to avoid soggy popcorn). Then, I tossed the popcorn with parmesan cheese and salt. OH MY, it was SO GOOD! You can't get popcorn this good in ANY store, period! Thanks for this recipe, I will be making it again!

It is highly probable that basic recipes like these have been around for a long time, but for people like me who have either forgotten them, or have not had the luck to have them, their postings are so so appreciated. We have made them regularly since the first time we tried this out to great success. I use the popcorn to make caramel popcorn . Thank you for posting.

This is the BEST way to make popcorn. ALAS, due to health reasons, i use an airpopper. But every now and then, I revert back to the "old" way and indulge in the best popcorn. My dad used to make popcorn every Sunday night when I was a kid and we would watch the "Wonderful World of Disney." Those were the days.

I have done this six times now and I am amazed that it is perfect everytime. Being from the old school myself, I like to see these basic methods posted. Must be like the Pilgrams popped their corn.

If you like old school popcorn, this is the way to make it. I used to eyeball it until I came upon this recipe some time ago. The oil/popcorn ratio works well. This is far, far better than microwave popcorn.

This is the way my Emaw makes popcorn, and I love it! I make this for my dh and he will eat the whole kettle full. So simple and good!

I've been making popcorn this way for years!!! No Microwave popping corn will ever stand up to home-popped corn. Occasionally, I add garlic salt to the oil and corn before it pops! Delish
Also, try popping and drizzling melted white chocolate chips over it. Nice surprise because you can't see the chocolate on the corn and it always makes people smile! Thanks for posting.
