This was good but a bit bland for me. When I added the 7 teaspoons to the meat I also add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch. I will spice it up a bit more next time.

Those little packages of seasoning mixes get darned expensive. This is a great $$$ saver as well as tasting terrific. I love tweeking these recipes to add more of the spices I like. I will be using and making this a lot.

I have to say this recipe is a great alternative to the taco seasoning packets that contain ingredients I don't want to eat. In my opinion it's always better to make my own stuff so I know what's in it. Thanks for a great recipe!

This is a great mix. I used the cumin, but I didn't have any onion powder, so I substituted 1/2 garlic salt and 1/2 onion soup mix! Thanks for sharing!

The best taco meat I've had in a long time. Even packaged! I just fried hamburger, drained, and rinsed with hot water (lowers fat). I then added garlic powder and salt, for flavoring that was lost rinsing the meat. Cooked about 5 min. Then added dry ingred. with 3/4c. of water. Simmered about 15 min. My kids (4 & 11) and my husband also loved it! Very good...will use from now on. NO more buying at the store!

This is a great starter recipe much healthier than the commercial brands which are mostly salt. I did need to adjust the spice content for our tastebuds, adding oregano and garlic and increasing the cumin & cayenne. Thank you WildlifeDi for sharing the recipe.

Thank you, thank you thank you! When I went to reach for my taco seasoning packet in my pantry today, voila!...it turned out to be sloppy joe seasoning mix instead. I just knew someone on Zaar could help me, and I wasn't disappointed. I had all the ingredients on hand, and I added some garlic powder, used a scant 1/2t. cumin (personal preference) and seasoned the taco meat with your recipe. The taco ring I baked on my baking stone tasted great thanks to you! Will make again in the future.

This one was perfect for us, especially since it doesn't have the dreaded chunky things (minced onion) in it. A very handy recipe to have on hand, and one that I will definitely use again!

Thank you for this! I had everything I needed for dinner tonight EXCEPT for the taco seasoning, and I was so glad that I found a nice easy one that I had all the spices for. When I tried the finished meal, I noticed a difference, but couldn't place exactly what it was. When I read the reviews though, I realized it was salt! It made me see how much salt really IS in those pricey little packaged deals. Thanks for this great recipe. I'll definately be keeping a small container of this around.
