I haven't had this sandwich in years. My sister and I used to buy these for lunch at a Mom and Pop store near our apartment. It was a nice cool lunch with a glass of ice tea on a hot Oklahoma afternoon. Thanks chreezie904. Bullwinkle.

I have been eating toasted tomato sandwiches for years! This is a tomato sandwich with a twist! I used toasted whole grain bread, light salad dressing and light cheddar cheese. This is also delicious with thinly sliced cucumber in addition to the tomato and pickle. I will be eating this again and again during the summer when we have an abundance of garden tomatoes!

I love this sandwich with my choice of cheese being provolone. Thanks for posting.

This is my second review on this sandwich. What makes it so special? Certainly not the photo I took of it! (I did 'crush' the sandwich down to fit into my sons mouth size). What made this special is yesterday I asked my kindergarten-er (son) if he would like me to make him this sandwich or a salad for school for lunch(today). He w/o a pause wanted this for his school lunch sandwich. Well you know the way kids are..this a.m. he said he wanted to buy hot lunch(sob). BUT when walking him home from school he informed me he wanted me to make him 'that pickle sandwich' for his afternoon snack. I didn't need to be asked twice. This sandwich is a favorite with my 6 yr. old and a..woman in her 40's!! Thank You once again cbreezie904

I toasted my slices of sour dough bread and layered on the juiciest of garden tomatoes, Claussen's Sandwich Slice pickles, iceberg lettuce, and Colby-Jack cheese between the mayo slathered slices. I actually grunted with pleasure at the first bite. Yum!

I love this sandwich!! I'm on the go alot and this is sooo healthy and easy to make. Lite bread and brown mustard and horse relish and add some olives are my add on's. Next time balsamic dressing...it just came to mind.
Thanks cbreezie

I dont like it with pickles, I use cucumbers and if I don't have the cheese i just nix it! But this is so good and can almost always be a go-to lunch in your refrigerator!
