From: meltedcountry

I am in heaven! These are the best shrimp I have ever eaten. Usually they are tough and rubbery. Not anymore!! Followed your recipe and I have the most tender, delicious shrimp ever! I will never make them any other way, and we are sure to be eating a whole lot more shrimp in our house! Thanks for sharing this fabulous secret!

Bizarre — goes against all shrimp cooking wisdom. Works as advertised — thanks! Notes: 1) Frozen shrimp work fine; they sink when they're thawed. 2) The "heads" of the shrimp pop to the surface when done — that's what "float" means. They are flush w/ the surface. 3) Don't worry that the Old Bay forms a cloud — you can still see the floating heads when done. 4) I tasted the first floater — perfect.

I hought the recipe was a bit different from what I have seen anywhere else having no set times for cooking or bringing to a boil. But i went ahead and made it anyway and they were incredible. Tender and delicious. I also bought wild shrimp and they were much better in flavor than farm raised shrimp. Thank you so , much

Great results! This is an easy and delicious way to boil shrimp. I was out of cider vinegar, so I used white wine vinegar instead. I also added about 15 shakes of tabasco. When the shrimp started floating I drained and rinsed them as per the instructions - they were tender and tasty. This method is easy, fast, and yummy!

Normally I buy my shrimp/prawns already cooked if I want them boiled, just thought I would try this recipe. I had some peeled prawns with the tails on, was dubious but cooked according to recipe with the vinegar and bay seasoning. The water never got to the boil but the prawns/shrimp were perfect, did put them in a ice water sluch straight after taking them out. I only did about 250 gr of them. Tasted better than bought cooked prawns/shrimp..thanks

This recipe is the way to cook shrimp. I was always taught to "steam" shrimp and they were always tough. These shrimp are delicious!!

I was a little nervous about putting the vinegar in the water. I had never heard of that before, but am glad i did. The flavor of the shrimp was amazing. And I've realized I was always overcooking my shrimp, because this were so good and not rubbery in the least. Delicious....thank you......Stephanie

I just tried this recipe, and the shrimp came out perfectly cooked, just as you said. The water wasn't boiling, but I stirred until two shrimp floated, and whalah! Perfectly cooked 41-50 ct. shrimp!! It was farm raised, and I can't wait to try it on some wild caught! Thanks so much!!! No more tough, overcooked shrimp.

I'm use to doing the traditional boil method. Tried this for a change and it did not work. They were really rubbery & overcooked, and they never floated to the top. I taste tested one after it was in the water for a LONG time, since I became concerned that not one had floated and it was already too late, they were way too cooked.
