Just made these for a baby shower I was a hostess for. Some frustration in the beginning! I definitely suggest using the ROYAL icing that dries up very hard and makes a pacifier that is completely edible since guests seem to love to eat these. We used a stiff decorator's icing first,by mistake and it wouldn't set up hard enough to be able to handle these to arrange on trays. Finally realized I didn't have the Royal icing that sets up so hard. I found the meringue mix for it at the craft store and mixed it with water and powdered sugar. I used a tiny pencil size paint brush and just brushed the thin icing on. I did the two lifesavers first then 'glued' the jelly bean in the hole with the icing and set them up in a mini muffin pan (two to a hole) to dry. I tied small 1/4" gingham ribbon in pink, blue, yellow, green and purple on the handles to match the jelly beans. I put them on a glass pedestal cake plate on the sign in table with the flower arrangement and they looked so adorable. To my surprise many guests took one when signing in and when I looked out during the shower...I saw many ladies sitting there sucking their pacifiers!! It was a sight and good picture op. Out of the 30 my daughter and I made there were none left. The kids really loved eating them, too. I used the new Sweet Mint flavored life savers, picked gingham ribbon to match our theme and went to Target where you could buy jelly beans in individual colors. Too cute.

These are so easy & adorable. I didn't use the curling ribbon, and used these as toppers for blue-iced cupcakes. These were very easy; I scooped some icing from the cupcakes into a Ziploc bag and snipped the end instead of buying the little tubes. Worked great!! I used pep-o-mint life savers and blue (blueberry) Jelly Bellies. Thanks

these turned out great but were really hard to make. it took me 20 minutes just to figure out how to make them where they wouldnt be slanted. so i will post my findings on how to mkae them supper easily! 1. lay the lifesavers face down in a row and then add the frosting to the inner whole. then add the ring part(the second lifesaver ) so then when its dry you have the bottom of the pacifier. 3. when that is totaly dry(give it a while ) use a metal drying rack and put the pacfiers on them, hanging(see picture ) and put frosting in the hole then place your jelly bean( i used pink good and plentys because it was for a girl shower and i thought they looked really cute ) then let them dry. you might even want to put the icing in the hole and let it set for about 3 minutes then add your candy of choice, this way the icing will be hard enough to hold up the candy with out letting it tip. these came out really cute and i will make again! hope this was helpful!

I absolutely love these and they are so easy to make. These were made for my baby shower and we had a blast with them. We used them for one of our games. The object is not to say the word "baby". If someone says it then whoever hears it takes their pacifier. The person with the most pacifiers at the end of the shower gets a gift. This was hilarious and we had a blast with them. They were great to keep for my babies in their keepsake box too.

Years ago my mother gave me an "sample" of one of these from a shower she had attended and I finally made these this winter for a baby shower in my sons' class - the teacher was expecting and the kids each got one as a favor - they LOVED it! I used royal icing as the "glue"since it's guaranteed to set up like cement and holds very well and the kids could still eat the favor if they wanted - which they did. I used pep-o-mint life savers and pink jelly bellies.

I made these for a shower and they were a hit. I used curling ribbon to make short little pink and white curls on the ends. I placed them around a diaper cake I made for the centerpiece and the rest on a candy dish. They surely did travel well with none breaking. It was very easy to make and quick too. I used a cooling rack to sit the pacifiers on to dry, which worked very well. I love cute ideas such as this one. Thanks for giving me a quick, cute, and fun favor to make!

What a hit! The kids attacked them. Very fun and cute. I did use a Gingerbread icing recipe for the glue, store bought didn't work for me. Thank you.

I made these for a friend's baby shower and everybody loved them.I used wint-o-green life savers and assorted Jelly Belly jelly beans. When they were done I split up the leftover royal icing, colored it blue and pink, and decorated the tops of the pacifiers with different patterns.(I used blue and pink for that and the ribbond because the mom-to-be does not know the sex of her baby.)1 1/2 weeks later and I still see people around work displaying them at their desks.Good idea.Thank you.

I made these for a baby shower I hosted last week. I used blue and red jelly beans to go with our baby boy and firetruck theme. They were a hit. We got lots of comments on how cute they were, and they were a cinch to make. I used a homemade Royal Icing to "glue" them together and it worked perfectly! Thank you for the wonderful idea!!!

What a cute idea for a baby shower! I made two batches of cupcakes last night (dark chocolate cake #2496) as we are having a baby shower for my manager. I used regular white icing (#16017) and frosted half with yellow icing and half with green. I made the pacifiers with matching coloured jelly bellies and placed them on top, as other reviewers suggested. I'm normally not very crafty, but these look adorable. Thanks so much for sharing!
