Brilliant!I did add 1 Tbls of brown sugar when Sauteing the onions just to caramalise them a little.This soup I,ll be making more of. Thankyou

I used 2 cans of beef broth and added 2 beef boullion cubes too. It was so good and very easy! Thank you, I will be making this alot more!

Easy and delicious! Just before adding the broth I deglazed the pan with some dry sherry and we felt this really made it taste like authentic slow cooked french onion soup. I know this will be made again and again at our house.

Outstanding, easy, satisfying. I used reduced fat swiss cheese and a bit more than a dash of worcestershire sauce. A great recipe! Thanks!!

I have been making this recipe for a few years now and I realized I never properly reviewed it and gave credit where credit is due. I love this recipe! It tastes exactly as French Onion Soup should. I have seen other recipes, but I find myself comparing them to this recipe and they just don't stack up. I am such a broth person; I love broths that have just the right amount of saltiness and spice (though no spice is added here, it still works!) My only complaint (if that) is there's not enough broth. I usually add another can of beef broth. Thank you very much this is fabulous!!!

I couldn't agree more that this soup was about as good as any we've had in a restaurant! We loved it & it was half the work of most french onion soup recipes. Thanks so much for sharing it!
