My whole family enjoyed this easy dish last night. I added green peppers, canned mushrooms and used turkey pepperoni. Any pizza topping would be great in this dish.

Absolutely wonderful! Made this ahead, split into two and froze before baking (took more than 1 day in fridge to defrost). I wasn't sure about the cottage cheese, but it was perfect! Depending on which is cheaper, I'll use either ricotta or cottage cheese next time. Adding chopped red bell peppers really added something nice to both flavor and texture. Next time I might double the pepperoni (BF's request...loves pepperoni) and might add black olives (since I love those...). Thank you for sharing such a great and simple recipe that's also freezer friendly!

This was an easy fix. I sauteed the peppers, mushrooms and onions before adding them to the mix and spiced it up with just a bit of black pepper, garlic powder and a tiny pinch of red pepper flakes. Tasty.

Cheesey, easy and yummy! I used all three of the optional additions and the ricotta cheese in place of cottage cheese. It's a great, quick meal that the whole family will love. A nice change from ground beef casseroles. Thanx for sharing. I'll be making this again.

I made this for dinner yesterday. It is one of those wonderful recipes that requires very little effort with a great outcome. I used ricotta instead of cottage cheese and followed it exactly otherwise. I also covered it loosley with non stick foil. It was quick and easy and made a large amount. Everyone really enjoyed it, thanks for sharing it.

I made this recipe last week. It is very similar to one I grew up with. I did change the pepperoni for italian sausage (already cooked and in my freezer), broke into chunks and voila. Family loved this. My suprise is that it can be frozen. I will have to make a bigger batch and freeze it. Never thought to freeze pasta dishes before although I have frozen pasta in soups.

We love this family-friendly meal too! It's become a permanent addition to our easy weeknight rotation. It's easy to prepare ahead of time and holds well overnight in the fridge as well as the freezer. I use brown rice pasta so the child who needs to eat gluten-free can have it, and it's tasty enough so no one else even realizes the substitution!
