Filling but very light in texture. We all enjoyed them enormously. The only change I made was that I used rum extract as I didn't have maple extract but I served the waffles with maple syrup so the two flavours complemented each other nicely. This will be my regular waffle recipe from now on!

I've tried a bunch of waffle recipes over the last couple of months and none really were 'it'.. This is "IT"... I made these waffles every Sat for the last 3 weekends and everyone loves them. I double it and freeze the leftovers. I added some Whole Wheat flower last time and while my husband noticed, he still liked it. I also added blueberries becuase I had some that I had to use up. Yummy!!!

Great waffles. I used milk and next time I want to try the evaported milk. I didnt have any maple extract so I used the same amount of maple syrup. Great combination the vanilla and the maple, we like it alot. Just the right amount of sugar as well. I used 1/3 cup of batter for each waffle. Love the picture you took Thanks Roxy!

I really liked this recipe...I didn't have maple extract so we put a little more vanilla and four ounces of melted butter. We made half the recipe and it was perfect for two Belgian Waffles. Thanks for posting!

Great Waffles! I used 1/2 cup whole wheat and replaced the oil with appelsauce to try to get a little healthy and they were fantastic! Thanks

my hubby and i agreed that this w/ out syrup tasted like the bread at church during communion. we much prefer waffles w/ a hint of sweetness to it. kids enjoyed it very much.

I made these last night for supper and both my husband and I agreed that this would be our only waffle recipe from now on. The maple extract really made these special. Thanks for a great recipe.

I am going to have to give this recipe 5 stars, as my whole family gobbled them up. We even had extras to put in the freezer for quick breakfast/snacks in the toaster. We didn't have vegetable oil, so we used olive oil. I also used whole wheat flour instead of white and we didn't have maple extract, so I used 1 tablespoon maple syrup. This was actually my first time making waffles and even I was impressed with them.
