These turned out wonderful. We really enjoyed them. I sliced and toasted up a baquette bread....will make again for sure

These were a hit! Absolutely delicious. I used canned crab meat and I addded more than a dash of cajun red spices on the second round. What was so great about these appetizers is that they are better hot, but they are still yummy at room temp. The plate was empty by the time dinner was served.

I saw this on the Paula Dean show and had in my file to be posted. She made them look wonderful & very appetizing. Have not tried this yet but what is not to like about all these great ingredients? I give it 5 stars, anyway. Thanks for sharing. Diane

I give this 5 stars if made and eaten "fresh", only 3 stars if frozen. I made these in advance for a weekend with friends. They were delicious right out of the oven, but once they had been frozen and then reheated they just weren't the same. I will definitely make again, but will not freeze.

I made this for New Years and it was a hit. I did increase the amount of crab meat, and I feel this made it even better!

I did alter this a bit by using shredded cheese and a bit of horseradish instead of the old english cheese spread, and I used English muffins instead of other bread. They always turn out great!

As someone said, using shredded cheese and horseradish is good. An easier option is a cheddar/horseradish spread. The horseradish definitely gives it a needed zing!

These were really good, after I added salt! I went right by the recipe, and baked a few immediately. I didn't really care for them until I figured out they needed some salt. Then they were fine. I froze the rest of them for later. I took them out of the freezer, put them on a pan, added a little salt, and broiled them while frozen. They turned out great. The bottom of the English muffin didn't get as hard as it did when I baked them right after assembling. This is a great make ahead recipe.

I'm definitely in the minority here, but we felt these were just average. I didn't really care for the garlic/cheese combo. I had high hopes, maybe a different type of cheese would work better for us as we usually love this sort of appetizer.
