This was really good Bergy! I have to admit, I added a lot of cheese on top, so it became Scalloped/Au Gratin! Thanks for a great recipe!

This was a very easy dish to make. Even my kids enjoyed it, and they are fussy eaters.

as i was reading the recipe, i thought soup in scalloped potatoes, well i guess i should give it a try. but all i had was cream of chicken soup so i prepared it with that.since there was only two of us,i made just half of the recipe.i chopped the onions into tiny pieces and sprinkled them over the potatoes, then i added the soup mixture, butter, and flour.and you were so right on the money for the baking time, "and puritans be darned" these are just so good.this will be made again.thank you for posting.edited again on march 6th for the last time(i promise bergy

Really tastey!! I left out the onions - don't like them! I used cream of chicken soup and mixed with the milk. I omitted the butter too - I didn't think we needed that extra fat and calories!
I layered half the potatoes then seasoned, and sprinkled with the flour and the sauce mixture - repeated for a total of 2 layers and topped with a mixture of white cheddar and american cheeses shredded. Very easy and so good!!! I used to just make a stove top velveeta version, but these were a nice cheesey, creamy baked dish! Thanks.

We really did like this recipe. My husband does not care for a lot of onions in his food so I omitted the fresh onions and used a sprinkle of dehydrated onion for taste and it worked fine. If omitting the onion though, I'd recommend an 8 x 8 pan, and next time I plan to use a little cheese as well. Thanks!

These turned out great. We will be making these again. We used 7 medium potatoes, 1/2 a small onion, cheddar cheese, fresh mushrooms, along with everything else listed. Great recipe!!! Thank you.

I made this for afunction and had to adjust for 40 serrvings. I used pans twice the 9x13 size, made only 2 layers, added shredded cheese to each layer and threw on breadcrumbs with the cheese topping. I used 'pats' on butter on each layer and must have guessed right because there is another function coming up and have been asked to make 'those wonderful potatoes' again..

Loved these scalloped potatoes! You're right, who cares if they are "cheating" when they taste this good! Only change I made was to add grated old cheddar (white) to each layer and on top and they turned out amazing. Will definitely be making these for company next time!

I have been looking for a good scalloped potatoe recipe for a long time. This is the recipe I've been looking for. Delicious and yet so easy to make. The only thing I did differently is that I cut back the onions to 1 cup instead of 2 cups! A great recipe that will be made again for my family!
