Followed recipe exactly except added about a quart more water and some beef boullion. Very satisfying and tasty!

I found this recipe rather bland, I may make it again, but will add some additional spices and flavoring.

Great tasting hearty stew! I added a tablespoon of Creole seasoning after reading the other reviews and that just made the stew. I used beef broth and followed the recipe to the letter, except for the seasoing. We will have this again. Thanks, Carole in Orlando

We used a bag of frozen baby veggies, and added a can of chicken broth. This was so good! I can't wait ofr the leftovers tomorrow.

This was so good! I shredded the cabbage very fine, added two cloves of garlic, fresh ground pepper, bag of frozen mixed veggies in stead of fresh, skipped the peppers.

Great stuff. Used peas instead of green beans and white potatoes instead of red. Skipped green pepper, too — not a fave in my house. Used sausage-seasoned ground beef. A winner!

I made this in the crockpot (after browning meat and onions separately) - took a bit over 4 hours on high. I used beef broth and substituted sweet italian sausage and fennel instead of beef and thyme. Left out green beans. The red-meat eater in my house said "this tastes great, I can't believe it's good for you too!"

I thought this was very bland. Used 1/2 of a large cabbage and ground turkey, maybe that is why.

I am not fond of soups in general so for my to give any soup/stew a good rating but I thought it was excellant. It is a very healthy dish and fulfilling meal along with a tossed salad and/or cornbread. The only comment I can add is if making when storm is approaching or barometer is low I would add a little more ( 1/2 to 1 cup ) more broth
