135 Reviews of Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Pan Cookie

From: Manda

On Jan 29, 2005

...Plus 5, plus 5!!!! I remember my mum making these cookies when I was a kid, but I haven't had them in sooo long! I made these to take to a work meeting, and everyone raved about them(if they only knew how easy they are..hee, hee!) I also made in a 13x9 pan, which produced a nice, thick chewy bar. I thought I had done something majorly wrong when I was mixing and spreading these because the dough was really thick and hard to spread. Nonetheless, they turned out GREAT!! The only thing I think I might change next time is use half butter and half margarine just for personal preference...I don't care for the taste of butter that much. Also, would like to try adding nuts. Will definitely be making again! Thanks for posting!! ~Manda BTW, I forgot to grease the baking pan, but they still came out perfect!

I am so glad you posted this recipe! I too, was amazed that this recipe wasn't already posted on Zaar because I searched for it during the Christmas holidays. This is Nestle's Original Toll House recipe for cookies/bar cookies. You can find it on the back of every package of Nestle' Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, BUT if you are like me, always looking for ways to cut costs, you don't always buy the name brand products. Such was my dilemma when I had bought an off-brand bag of chocolate morsels and wanted to make this recipe! IMO, this is the best "tried & true" recipe I have ever made for chocolate chip cookies or the bar version. I have also used this recipe to make the "giant" chocolate chip cookie which is baked in a 12" pizza pan for 20 minutes. Cool and decorate with icing for birthdays or other occasions. Again, thanks for posting this great recipe. It is going into my Zaar cookbook where I'll always be able to find it!

Great recipe!I have made these before in a smaller pan around 11x9 and I think that I actually prefer it that way because it yields a mucher thicker bar.The ingredients are perfect absolutely a delicious treat!thanks, PeggyLynn

DH and I made these yesterday during the blizzard of 2005 and I have to tell you they were awesome. I made them in a 13x9 pan as I didn't have a bigger one and they turned out perfect. Serve them warm..you won't be sorry!

Great recipe. My neighbor used to make these when I was a kid, and I loved them. I searched around for this recipe and made something similiar. I made these with ghiradelli milk chocolate chips and omitted the nuts.I had a bit of trouble spreading out the dough and tried to get it as close to baking pan as I could, but as it baked it spread out a bit on its own. I also used parchment paper on the bottom of the baking sheet for easy removal and quick clean up. Thanks for posting this recipe.

Wonderful NPG!... 5 star plus! I think these bars are even better than cookies! Very simple to make, and so chewy and delicious. I baked this in a 13x9 inch pan for 30 minutes. Cut them into small squares and served them at my get together. Everyone really enjoyed these. This is definately a repeater. Thanks so much for sharing, ....Kittencal

Great! I noticed as I was pouring in the chips that the recipe is the same as for the cookies. Wow, doing it this way made it so much easier than having to keep making cookies. Thanks!!

This is the absolute best chocolate chip square/blond brownie recipe ever. I make it every week for the kids' snacks and whenever friends ask for baking from me, this is what they want. I don't have the patience to make cookies so this is my "cookie" recipe. Enjoy!

Easy & simple. I made a 9X13 pan of these, took them into work and they were gone in no time flat. I did sample one corner and was happy with the perfect texture of both chewy and cake like. Thanks for sharing NPG!
