One of my all time favorites! The only thing I do differently, is to drop the broccoli in boiling water for 1 min. This brings it to a bright green, and it's not raw raw, but keeps it's crunch. Thanks for posting.

I've been making variations of this salad for years, and I was taught by an Italian cook who makes it that they key is to cut the broccoli into very small pieces. It is much nicer than eating a huge hunk of raw broccoli, especially for people who don't usually like raw broccoli. The tiny pieces are much more palatable and it just makes for a much nicer salad. Even though I do like raw broccoli, the small pieces are sooooooo much better. Just cut the broccoli into florets, then chop them with your chef's knife until you get pieces about the size of a garbanzo bean.

WOW! That was the first word out of my mouth after trying this. I reduced the mayo by about a third and replaced the sugar with Splenda with no problem. This is an excellent recipe that I will be making again - - very soon!! Thank you!

I have two vegetarians in the family. I substitute cashews for the bacon and we all love it. The cashews still give it the meaty texture and the saltiness. I also add raisins to this. It is a great salad for groups. I get raves all the time.

My mother-in-law taught me to make this! And boy is it good. She adds raisens, apples, and chopped walnuts to it. I know that sounds strange but it is really good!

Very good recipe. I found a 1 lb. bag of 'broccoli slaw' in the produce section so I used that instead of the 1 to 2 heads of broccoli. This is a good 'base' recipe to which you can add many things. I added seedless purple grapes and sliced almonds.

This salad is soooooo good. I do not normally like raw broccoli. Add raw cauliflower(sp) and this salad becomes even better.

I served this to a friend who doesn't like any vegetables and she absolutely loved it. How can you not like something with mayonnaise and sugar poured over it? I left out the cheese and added raisins and roasted sunflower seeds. YUM.

After all these great reviews, I just HAD to try this salad..and I am SOOOO glad that I did!! I substituted cheddar cheese for the mozzarella, and added a bit of salt and pepper. It was a HUGE hit, even among the so-called "veggie haters". Next time I might add some cauliflower too, just to add some different textures. Thanks so much for this recipe!!

I just noticed I forgot to add the mozzarella cheese to the salad and no one missed it.I guess it was just unneeded calories.I used red wine vinegar. And cut the sugar to 1/4 cup...This salad was my DH's favorite he liked the slight sweet taste..I made 3 salads and they were all 5 stars..I did add sunflower seeds just because I had some, they gave the salad a nice crunch..I will make this again..Thank U for this recipe..I think I will skip the cheese all together in the future...
