The chicken tasted very good, however I would say the instructions might need a bit of direction on a suggested crockpot size. I have a 5 quart, and even though I doubled the sauce, after 6 hours it was still dried (almost burnt) around the edges. The chicken, which was in the center was yummy - but the meat-to-sauce ratio seems like it's geared for a small crockpot. Overall, great recipe taste and A+ on odd ingredients that came out great - but for anyone with a larger crockpot, I would suggest tripling the sauce.

I made the salsa using #96866, Garlic Cilantro Salsa and this was just delicious. I'm normally not too impressed with meats cooked in the crockpot but this worked beautifully. I made the full recipe for 2 thighs and 2 drumsticks and served it over brown rice.

This was pretty good, but not as great as we expected. The flavor did not pack the punch that I was looking for even though I used a fairly spicy cilantro salsa and followed the recipe to a "t". First of all, being half Thai, when I see the recipe ingredients I certainly would not say this is a Thai dish, maybe "Thai-inspired" would be a better description for anyone who has not had Thai food before. I am not one to pick at the names of recipes and their "authenticity" I merely mention this to those who have had Thai food so they may have an idea that this doesn't taste like a typical dish in a Thai restaurant. Secondly, I only used 3 pieces of chicken and found there wasn't a whole lot of sauce for that small amount. For those expecting this to taste like a Thai peanut sauce, it is not at all the same, but it is relatively nice nonetheless. The meat does come out moist and tender and though it wasn't flavorful enough for our particular tastes, it may suit others with milder tastes. We ended up shredding the chicken and mixing it with that little bit of sauce and tossed it with soba noodles and then topped that with chopped peanuts, cilantro and lime juice. The lime juice gave it that bit of extra flavor and brightness we were wanting from this recipe. For flavor we may have given this a 3.5, but because of the ease of preparation, simple ingredients and nice texture we give this a 4. Thanks for sharing this recipe for us to try!

I was extremely skeptical about this recipe given the odd combination of ingredients. However, I was VERY pleasantly surprised, and I will definitely be making this again! Wouldn't change a thing!

Very happy with the sauce; it tasted much more complex than I expected with so few ingredients. I added lime juice just before serving because I think the citrus flavors taste brighter if they don't cook too long. It's nice to have Asian flavors with crock pot convenience.

I have to agree that this recipe seemed soooo simple. It was and it was still delicious! I read a previous post and decided to double the recipe for the sauce just in case. I too used regular salsa and added some fresh cilantro to the mix. I also cut up the chicken into smaller pieces which almost made it more "stewish". It was yummy! Definitely a recipe I'd make again! Thanks for sharing!

Very different, but very good. My chicken thighs were super tender and flavorful. Definitely for the adventurous palate, though. IMO, the results of this recipe would vary widely upon the brands/quality of the salsa, pb, and soy sauce. Fresh ginger vs. powdered will make a big difference also (I used fresh). I used a mild salsa and added a handful of fresh chopped cilantro. My soy sauce was low sodium, and I recommend using a low sodium type. There are a lot of strong flavors in here. I did add a tbsp of brown sugar in the beginning and added another at the end. That kind of helped to buffer all the flavors. I also think that a little sour cream stirred in at the end of cooking would be a nice addition. Thanx for posting this interesting recipe. I'll make this again with my little additions.

YUM.. I'm trying Zaar recipes in hopes of making cookbooks for busy working college students.. Bag of thighs had 12 rather than 8 pcs- doubled sauce and then added water (maybe wine or juice next time to make sure it didn't burn)..Then pulled the cooked meat apart and turned it into some cooked Thai noodles (from a box)pan-fried..Shared with neighbors.. very good. I like the idea of chopped peanuts on the top..NORA

Ok, I've made this several times, and yes, it took me way too long to review it! I LOVE this dish. It's easy, tastes great, and the last review was what got me to finally write my own. I don't care if any of the ingredients are "Thai". French fries aren't "French" either. This dish is a wonderful, tasty, comforting thing to come home to. YES, it is GOOD! Thank you so much for this recipe--and don't listen to anyone who says it's bad!

I make this in the oven- 350 for 45-60 minutes. Cover first half of time/uncover for last half. We sprinkle chopped peanuts on it to serve. The peanut butter/salsa combo is delish!! I will try in crockpot on Tuesday (Tuesday is always slowcooker day)
