Kathleen, I must say that I have never had a better pizza crust than this anywhere. I let the dough rise for over two hours and it got BIG! It stretched great too which allowed for a fuller calzone. Used your filling using fresh mushrooms instead of canned and no sausage. This was so easy, will definitely be made often since my brothers seem to want pizza all the time. Everyone got to personalize their own filling and they baked in less than 25 minutes. Everyone LOVED these! I can't wait to make them again! Thank you!

Kathleen, these were Wonderful! I made these tonight with my own pizza sauce recipe (#65641). I only added slightly under a 1/2 cup of sauce in the middle, I thought that that amount was enough, as I cut the dough smaller than 10 inches. I left out the sausages and added chopped cooked bacon instead, and made as directed. They were so delicious! I served them with a salad. What a wonderful change from pizza! This is definately a repeater, thank you for sharing!...Kittencal

Tasty. I added more cheese the second time, however, because 1/2 c wasn't really enough for my tastes.

Very good calzone recipe! I filled mine with spinach, cheese, garlic, and some other chopped veggies like broccoli and carrots. Very nice! I used my own homemade pasta sauce as an accompaniment. I especially liked the dough!

I made a simplified version of this, and it was great. I made the crust all in one bowl, instead of adding all the dry ingredients at once. This was an accident, but it turned out fine anyway. For the filling, I just layered on sauce, pepperoni, sausage, and cheese. Then I gave it a sprinkle of garlic salt and italian seasoning. When I brushed on the oil midway through cooking, a gave the top another dash of italian seasoning and garlic salt. Made it look very pretty.

I didn''t use the Ragu pizza sauce but instead a chunker pasta sauce (Classico tomato-basil) which I think was good. I also added chicken and ham.

I made these for my fussy daughter and myself last night. They were wonderful. My daughter wants to take the leftovers in her school lunch. I didn't brush them with the melted butter, and the crusts still turned out nice and crispy. Definitely a keeper. Thanks for posting.
