This is a great shortcut when you're running low on time and need sticky rice in a hurry; I can imagine that I'll be using this one a lot since it can be a trick to find time to do it the original way. I used half jasmine and half white rice. We did find it a bit oily and will probably reduce/omit the oil next time, though. Thanks so much for posting this timesaver!

This a great way to make sticky rice...one of my grandson's favorites. I did use medium grain rice and low sodium chicken broth and no salt and it turned out perfect. Thanks Mercy

WOW! Sticky rice without hours of soaking and fiddling with it! This is a great recipe. Don't give my family "fluffy rice," ever, this is the way we like it! I used regular long grain white rice and added very little salt because I was serving it with Chow Mein. Thanks for this recipe, Mercy! The whole family loved it, and I doubt I will fix rice any other way than this. This would go quite well with a finger eating Thai dinner!

The only thing that wasn't the best about it was the amount of salt. It made it too salty. However, after reducing it, it turned out great! Love the texture!

Wow - so yummy! My family loved this when we had it for dinner tonight along with an Asian steak recipe! I had bought some cheap-o rice at the grocery store and nobody liked it [strange, I know... it's just rice! But it was no good
] so I was going to throw it out (I know, I know - how wasteful), but I thought I'd try it with this recipe, and it turned out wonderful! Everyone thought I had bought some new rice! Thanks for the recipe - it's a definite keeper!

Yum! I doubled the recipe, so after 20 minutes it was still a little wet. But it went great with our teriyaki chicken!

This recipe is very easy and very goooood. My husband was born in japan and is always saying that he sure would like some sticky rice, will he loved it and now I make it as often as he asks. Thanks, Lisa in Yuma, Az.

Absolutely delicious! Never achieved sticky rice before but since I'm working on my cooking skills, I decided to try my hand at making my favorite (Asian Food). I reduced salt to 1/2 tsp and oil to 1 tbsp then followed the directions from there. I topped this off with pork chops that I cut into strips, marinated in soy, mirin and ginger, then stir fried together with the marinade and a little hoisin sauce, baby carrots, onions and snow peas...I'm glad I was alone as I devoured 2 bowls, I'm never ordering chinese take out again! Thanks for this simple method Mercy!

Truly a great sticky rice recipe. The entire family loved it. I did cut back on the oil as others had mentioned. I will be making it again to go with some shoyu chicken tonight.
