I live in NYC and am a big fan of these cookies. If your looking for a fast impressive cookie recipe, this is it! Better than the bakeries. I halved the icing recipe but still used the same amount of lemon extract. People will think you bought these cookies in little Italy. Molto bene! Thanks!

I made these to give out for Christmas gifts. So easy to make. The photo of the cookies are so pretty and round. Mine did not look so perfect, but tasted delicious. Rather than frost with a metal spatula, I dipped each cookie top in the frosting. Worked great and much faster.

Delicious cookies. The only thing I would do differently next time would be to make less frosting, as I had a lot left over. Thanks for posting the recipe!

I loved these and I'm not normally much of a cookie person. But I'm a sucker for anything lemon and these have a lovely sweetness to them — not too sweet so you can eat lots of them! These have a great moistness/texture and the simple frosting on top is a perfect touch. Really enjoyed these — especially since Coffeemom made them and they were intended for Bekah and I intercepted and ate them. LOL

First, I would like to thank you so much for the lovely review and 5-star rating of my Zuchinni & Cheese Patties. To show my appreciation, I have made your Anginette Italian Cookies. These little gems are wonderful! I have a friend who makes these for weddings, however, whenever I ask her for the recipe, she is either very vague or always forgets to bring in the recipe. I am so glad to have this recipe. I love the lemony taste and the fact that is not an overly sweet cookie. I love dunking them in tea. Bless your little heart for sharing this, Kim D!!!!

I just got a tray of these out of the oven and I must say, even unfrosted, the flavor and texture is very appealing! I had to modify the recipe a bit because I did not have as much lemon extract on hand as I thought I did. I used the juice of one lemon which in turn made the dough too sticky. I added 1/4C flour and the results were fantastic! I have to freeze these immediately or there goes my diet!!!! Thanks for the recipe!

These were amazing. Probably my favourite cookies growing up in an Italian neighbourhood, they sure do bring back memories. These were a hit at xmas time, and I got asked to make them again and again!

Very pretty and quite tasty. Even my husband enjoyed these, and he is less fond of lemon flavored desserts. I also felt there is far too much icing, half would be plenty.
