Very simple dessert recipe that would work well for the beginner. This time I used vanilla pudding, twinkies, and strawberries, but next time I think I would try the cheesecake flavor pudding. Simple, quick, and done....

This is close to what I'm looking for and it sounds good, except for the straw berries.

Ok, Have to say that I was as surprised as anyone with this one! About a month ago I saw the first twinkie surprise recipe and I thought it was crazy. But it caught my imagination and I had to read all the twinkie recipes, and finally I had to try it. Lost a wager at work and the pay out was goodies for everyone. The winner was having a fierce chocolate craving and telling me how she loved cherry turnovers. Since I couldn't get the chocolate cherry thing out of my head, I ran with it. The grocery store I was in doesn't carry Hostess products, but does have Little Debbies. So I used Boston Cream Cakes, white cake & cream filling drizzled with chocolate, for the twinkies; chocolate fudge pudding and canned cherry pie filling. It was easy and simple to put together. Still I thought it was a little crazy and might end up a big gloppy, overly sweet mess. Here is where the surprise comes from in the name: it was not too sweet, it was not a gloppy mess, & it was not just for kids. It was acutally a really good dessert! The guinea pigs I work with really enjoyed it, and so did my family. This treat made the whole work day a little brighter and sweeter. My coworkers think I should lose a bet with them everyday so they can get more good stuff like this. Thanks for an easy, tasty dessert!! I'll make it again, with variations on the theme.

Everyone loved this dessert, but as I am looking at the recipe right now I discovered that i completely forgot to add the "Pudding". LOL.I was in too much of a hurry. It was still delicious and a beautiful presentation. Now I have to make it again the RIGHT way! :-0 Sorry but I think I'm loosing it! :-0 I reviewed the wrong recipe. You are probably wondering how in the world this could have worked without the PUDIING.
