24 Reviews of Honeymoon Salad by Elvira, Mistress of the Dark

From: Kauaian cook

On Oct 29, 2004

Been using this recipe for almost 30 years and it's just as good now as it was the first time! DH is still sticking around, and we both feel the honeymoon isn't over yet. Would get a 9.9 stars if available. Recommended to all...

Over 21 years ago, my Grandfather (World War I veteran, lived to be 102!) had one piece of advice for my husband and I at our wedding. He said we should have some honeymoon salad after the wedding! "Lettuce Alone". Good memories.

It took me a couple of times to finally get this. How cute!! For those who don't get it. It's a Honeymoon Salad. The ingredients are lettuce, alone. "LET US ALONE" Marianne

Lol... cute as heck. What part of "Lettuce Alone" meaning "Let Us Alone" did the one star reviewers not get? Ya just have to wonder about some peoples senses of humour... or lack thereof.

One of my favorate recipes! My husband and I still enjoy this after 4 years of marriage. It's not just for honeymoons! Keep this one on the top of your recipe pile.

Ive eaten this for years,,I like to use a mixture of light and dark green and even purple lettuces at once sometimes or just wedges of iceberg lettuce alone with a clean, crisp fresh dressing. Yup its just lettuce and its so simple but yet soooo refreshingly DEVINE!!! Now Im going to go make this and chow down!! Thanx for reminding me of & posting this recipe Debbie
