This is wonderful! During my Girl Scout days we would cook this over an open fire and called them Girl Scout Tacos. I also add a 15-oz can of Ranch Style Beans to the meat. Thanks for posting!

this is so much easier than tacos and tastes the same....I made this for a pot luck and it went over well. I added salsa to the meat mixture and simmered it until it cooked down. Thanks for the recipe.

I made this as stated except did not use the black olives because of the acrylamide. My boyfriend and I enjoyed it a lot and I will definitely make it again. Thanks for the idea.

Great Salad. So Easy!!! I added ranch style beans to the ground beef mixture and also heated up some refried beans. Delish.

This is how I make myself tacos. Sometimes if we are out of chips, I use broken taco shells. The only change I make is to add pickled jalapenos at the end- then I put cumin and crushed garlic in the meat mixture. Yummmmmm!

This is great, we do these all the time, very seldom do "real" tacos any more--too messy, too time consuming! Like the idea of adding a can of beans, maybe black beans next time.

I make this recipe in a large salad bowl and add 1-15oz can drained kidney or pinto beans. Each person puts the chips on their own plate and adds to taco salad mix on top.

I don't know what I can add, in the way of praise for this recipe. A good friend of ours used to make Taco Salad for pot lucks. She is gone, now and no body thought to get the recipe. Your salad is as good as hers, if not better. Thank you so much for posting it, and helping DW and I remember a very dear friend. jim

This was a surprise hit — I used a Catalina dressing (#44124) per another recipe — The sweet with the savory was delish. I even "healthied-up" the dressing by making it with Splenda and olive oil.

This was one of the best taco salads I have ever had! We added guacamole to ours and I also used multigrain tortilla chips. Definately just like a taco but simpler. And as opposed to taco salads you get in the tortilla "bowl" it was much easier to eat!
