this is excellent. i used a chorizo link instead of bacon and stirred it in instead of putting it on top but otherwise made it exactly as directed and it was as good as any beans on rice we have had. i recommend it to anyone who needs a good meal in a hurry.

Excellent! I served it with chicken enchalladas at a dinner party and it was a hit! (Even though I forgot to sprinkle the bacon on top!) Definately a do again recipe!

Yum! I love black beans and the flavor of this recipes is awesome. I used petite diced (small pieces) tomatoes with jalapeņo and loved the extra punch that it gave the recipe. We served these up as a side to chicken enchiladas (with all the toppings) and Spanish Rice #20780. It was a fabulous meal with no leftovers. I will be making these beans again. They would be a great side to grilled chicken or fish.

This is good, will use 2 cans black beans next time - tomatoes are a little strong.

Excellent recipe! I love every ingredient in these beans. Although I could not add the Jalapeno pepper because in hopes maybe my 4 year old would try some beans, but he still wouldn't eat no beans. Anyway I ate my Jalapenos on the side. I did put a little bell pepper in place of the Jalapeno in the recipe. I also used about a can and a half of black beans, because I had some black beans leftover in the fridge. I will make this recipe again, as I really loved it, shoot I might even put the Jalapeno in next time, hehe. Thanks a whole bunch Kendra....

This was just ok for me, but my family really liked it. They all gave it a thumbs up, although I would have rated it as a 2... so I gave it a four, since there are 4 of them, and one of me. LOL
I am not sure what was missing for me, but it just wasnt what I was hoping it would be. I will more than likely make it again, however, because my family will eat it!

Wow, this was really good. My family loves black beans. I have tried several different recipes. I have finally found the right one for us. I didn't have the Cumin on hand, so I left it out. Didn't seem to miss it. I also cut down on the tomatoes. Great recipe, thanks so much for sharing.

This was a nice side dish to go with tacos for dinner. An easy way to add favor to a can of back beans.
