Delicious! I chose this recipe because all the others I looked at called for Jello and I didn't have any. Am I glad I picked this one! It's wonderful. Easy and tasty and made with ingredients that you don't have to run out to the store to get. I added about a teaspoon of lemon juice and 3 drops of red food coloring to the glaze after it was done cooking. I used 2 pints of sliced strawberries and I tossed the berries in the glaze before pouring into my pie shell. My whole family loved it! Thank you!

This recipe is listed in my family cookbook as "President Eisenhower's Favorite Strawberry Pie". A former boyfriend LOVED it and often asked me to make it for him. It's easy to make and definitely a winner! I'd like to add that my recipe calls for 1 and a half quarts of fresh strawberries. Half (the nice looking ones) are reserved and the rest are mashed. The mashed strawberries are cooked with the sugar and cornstarch. Once thickened and clear, one Tablespoon of lemon juice can be added if desired. After the mixture has cooled, I add the remaining whole berries.

The flavor was phenomenal!!! The only amendment I would make is to slice the berries first, in addition to adding more...perhaps 1 1/2 or 2 pints. Enjoy!!!!

This was a great recipe thank you! I used 6 Tbsp of flour in place of the 3 tbsp of cornstarch and used a graham cracker crust it was divine! Thank you! Next time i think i will add red food coloring to the glaze and use a refrigerated pie crust.. Thanks for your recipe!!

Very good pie! I took it to a family gathering and everyone LOVED it. Much better strawberry flavor than other strawberry pies I've tried. I followed one of the other suggestions and crushed 1/2 the berries and added them to the sugar/cornstarch mixture while cooking. Very good and although I was worried, it set up well.

What a stunning pie. I used Diplo-mom's cardamom cookie dough as a pie crust (Cardamom Cookies) and the pairing was indescribably good. As suggested, I added a few crushed strawberries to the sauce as it was cooking, and it came out with its own delicate strawberry flavor that stood on its own very nicely. I ended up tossing my berries in the sauce and then spooning them into the crust which left some of the sauce in the pan, and the emphasis was more on the fresh berries, which was exactly what I wanted. We all ate our pieces with a bit of Cool Whip on the side just for dipping, and everyone agreed this is the best strawberry pie in the history of strawberry things.

This recipe was okay. The cornstarch sugar mixture needed more flavor. Next time I will puree some berries and add to the sugar mixture to give the pie a better berry flavor.

This pie was so easy and delicious. My husband and mother raved and they are picky. If your strawberries are real sweet, cut back on the sugar. I also glazed the pie crust with orange juice before baking.
