this is in my opinion the best coleslaw by far! my mom taught me this recipe with the addition of 1/2 an onion finely diced. it gives it a nice "zing". i've used red cabbage before too-also good. we always top it off with salt and pepper. this is Great with fish and chips!!! 5 stars for easiness, expense, and most importantly taste!

let me say my first mistake was, that i only made half. i wished i had made the whole recipe.it was just the right taste i was hoping for.now,i won't have to go to KFC for cole slaw.thank you for posting. — Jul 21, 2005, 1 member found this helpful.UPDATE:i've made this several times since i posted my first review of this back in July 2005 and just gets better each time i make it.to make it quicker i've started to use a bagged cole slaw mix,and i also cut back the mayo to 3/4's of a cup.but otherwise i've kept to the original recipe.thanks again for posting.

I added in some celery seed, but other than that made just like this, as it is the same as my recipe! I used Splenda and you would never know the difference. The family loved it too! Thank you!

This is just how we like our coleslaw. I appreciate the tip that the dressing amounts can be adjusted but to keep the ratio of vinegar to sugar at 1:1.

I make my coleslaw just like this, only I use the ready-made bags, to save time. This recipe makes a really tasty slaw, that everyone will enjoy! Thanks for sharing with us Marg... I included it in my Sunday Dinner Menu that I just posted, because it is just like mine!

I got this recipe in the 70's and have used it ever since. I add 1/2 tsp. of celery seed and fresh ground pepper. Best slaw ever.

This is a very nice tasty coleslaw.I used the bag coleslaw mix and it made enough for 1/2 the bag, depending on how creamy you want your coleslaw.I also added 1/2 tbsp of lemon juice and a little bit of pepper. Thanks for posting.

I really enjoyed this coleslaw recipe, both in taste and in preperation. I did cheat and use a bag of coleslaw mix, with the carrots in. It was very creamy, and took minutes to prepare. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
