Gado Gado: Indonesian Salad Recipe #450

This is a weird but yummy dish.

SERVES 6

  1. Bring the water to a boil and add the salt and vegetables, except potatoes.
  2. Boil vegetables for 5 minutes, then drain.
  3. Boil potatoes in separate pot until tender, then peel them.
  4. Cut potatoes, eggs and cucumber into slices.
  5. Heat peanut sauce on low heat. Arrange the green vegetables on a very large platter.
  6. Cover them with the sliced potatoes, eggs and cucumbers.
  7. Pour the peanut sauce over the entire platter, and serve.
  8. Serving Ideas : Serve with white rice and a meat dish.
  9. NOTES : The peanut sauce may be made by hand or bought. We put the Gado Gado in a large casserole dish.
