Apple Mince Pie Recipe #340271

My mom gave me a little recipe booklet that came with her NONE SUCH Mincemeat. This is one of the recipes that sounds good to me...

SERVES 8 -10 , 1 9 inch pie

  1. Place rack in lower half of oven; preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, toss apples with flour and butter; turn into prepared crust.
  3. Spoon mincemeat evenly over apple mixture.
  4. Cover with top crust; cut slits near center. Seal and flute.
  5. Brush egg mixture over crust (optional). Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 375 degrees F and bake 25 minutes longer or until golden.
  6. Cool.
  7. Garnish as desired (Cool Whip is a family favorite!).
