Brown Sugar Shortbread Recipe #334

SERVES 42

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  2. Gradually stir in the flour.
  3. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, about 3 min.
  4. Pat into a 1/3" thick rectangle measuring 11x8".
  5. Cut into 2x1" strips.
  6. Place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Prick with a fork.
  8. Bake at 300 degrees for 25 min.
  9. or until bottom begins to brown.
  10. Cool for 5 min.; remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
