Vegetarian Split Pea Soup Recipe #187594

What a difference this makes when you leave out the over-powering ham!! This has a fresh, hearty flavor and goes great with fresh-baked bread. I serve it as a main dish during the cold, snowy winter months.

SERVES 8 -10

  1. Place in a crock pot in order given.
  2. Cook on low 6-8 hours or high 4-6 hours, stirring every 1 or 2 hours. Add water as necessary 1 or 2 cups at a time.
  3. I serve this with my home-made Amish bread--also posted in my recipes!
