Polish Kraut Soup

Broth soup with sauerkraut, kielbasa, and other veggies

SERVES 6 -8 , 2 quarts (change servings and units)

    While bringing your water to a boil, chop all your veggies, slide/dice your kielbasa. squeeze a little bit of the juice out of your sauerkraut, do not rinse, or drain completely. when water comes to a boil, add bouillon, spices, veggies(except potatoes), sauerkraut, and kielbasa and bring back to a boil. hard boil for 2-3minutes and reduce to a simmer. 10min. then add potatoes, and simmer for an additional 20min.

    to save on time i always quickly scrub my potatoes and leave the skin on -- same with the carrots, saves time and adds nutrition to your final product.

Delicious! I used 6 bullion cubes, and it was definitely salty enough. I ended up having two full bowls of it! I put some leftovers in the freezer, for one of the cold days that are coming up. Thank you for sharing a quick, and very easy take on this polish staple.

    Great soup. I made it last week and will be making it again in a couple days. I gave a friend a sample and she loved it, too. So I gave her the recipe. I only used 6 bouillion cubes. Thanks for sharing.

    What a great recipe! I love sauerkraut with anything that as soon as I saw this soup I just had to try it. The only problem I had with it was that I used 10 bouillon cubes which I believe that with the sauerkraut made it a bit on the salty side so I think next time I make it I'll add a little less bouillon but otherwise it was a home run in our house for supper. Thanks so much.
