This is a classic. I used couverture chocolate as we don't like milk chocolate. Made on Saturday morning 10am, gone on Saturday morning 10:45am. Anyone else have the Joe Dassin earworm? 'Tous les matins, il achete son p'tit pain au chocolat-ai-yi-yi-yi-yi...' Thanks.

Very easy, and absolutely to die for. I couldn't stop eating them. I brought a few to my french teacher (who lived in france for two years) and she thought they were great. I think the quality would vary a lot depending on the chocolate used, and I just used hershey's symphony bars. I ended up only using about 8 ounces, and even then I double stacked the pieces so you could either be a bit more specific or a bit more vague on the chocolate and it would make more sense. :] Made for ZWT5.

Yummy!! I loved these. I didn't measure the chocolate and didn't have the high qualitly chocolate but still loved them. Also, mine didn't look as pretty as the picture but fiddly stuff is not usually my thing. Next time I will sail through it. It really is not hard. Thanks for posting your wonderful little recipe.
