As a kid, I used to love peanut butter and candy corn sandwiches and recently I thought the combination would make a great cookie! Mmmmmmmm..... This recipe is based on Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies.

24 cookies (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. 2
Line cookie trays with parchment paper (or wax paper) in case some of the candy corn melt onto the trays.
  3. 3
    Cream the butter.
  4. 4
Add peanut butter, sugar, and brown sugar and mix well.
  5. 5
    Add egg and mix well.
  6. 6
Add flour and baking soda and mix well.
  7. 7
Using a teaspoon, make walnut-sized lumps of dough and place them 2 inches apart on parchment paper-lined cookie trays.
  8. 8
Bake 12 minutes, remove from oven, and quickly press about 5 candy corns into each cookie.
  9. 9
Bake another 5 minutes and remove from oven to cool.
  10. 10
Cool 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

Thank you mliss29, for an awesome cookie recipe! I was looking through recipes using peanut butter when I found this one and it caught my eye. As it turns out, I was also needing a good cookie recipe to make for Halloween treats for our high school band. These fit the bill perfectly! They have great peanut butter flavor and the candy corn is not only delicious on top, but it looks so festive! They are super easy to mix up too. Also, thank you for the tip about using parchment or wax paper. I only had wax paper on hand so that's what I used and it made cleanup a snap! I will definitley be sharing this recipe and these delicious cookies with everyone!!

Great flavor! I was in a hurry so I decided to do these as a bar cookie instead of individual cookies. I baked them in a prepared 9x9 square pan for about 20 minutes, then took them out and sprinkled the candy corn on top and returned them to the oven for another 12 minutes. The candy corn does firm back up once cooled making them a little harder to cut into squares but that didn't stop my guys from plowing through them! Thanks for a quick little bit of halloween!
