Eat from the jar, or pair with grilled pork chops or potato cakes. I found this recipe in Yankee magazine. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting this recipe for safe keeping. I plan to use Splenda for the sugar.

SERVES 8 -10 , 4 cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Peel and core apples; cut into big chunks. Place in a medium saucepan and toss with lemon juice.
  2. 2
Add cider, sugar, and cinnamon; bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Let cool 20 minutes. Discard cinnamon.
  3. 3
Mash to the consistency you prefer. Stir in brandy. Cool to room temperature; then cover and refrigerate.
