SERVES 6 -8 , 1 pie (change servings and units)

    in a large bowl, combine the flour, salt and nutmeg.

    in another bowl, combine the egg, sour cream, honey and vanilla until smooth.
  3. 3
    stir into dry ingredients.
  4. 4
    fold in the apples.
  5. 5
    spoon into pastry shell.
  6. 6
    combine the topping ingredients.
  7. 7
    sprinkle over filling.
  8. 8
    bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes.

    reduce heat to 325 degrees.

    bake 25-30 minutes longer or until the apples are tender ( cover pie edges loosely with foil, if necessary, to prevent overbrowning).

    cool on a wire rack.

    store in the refrigerator.
