Recipes in This Menu

  • Roast Capon

Will roast a capon rather than a turkey this year.

  • Baked ham

Our own locker hams, bone-in. Slow roasted and juicy!

  • Gratin Savoyard ( Scalloped Potatoes with Meat Stock and Cheese)

We have mashed potato eaters and mashed potato non-eaters, so we always have 2 kinds of potatoes. We adore this recipe, as well...

  • Mashed Potatoes

    Just plain, old mashed potatoes.

  • Whole kernel corn

Another must for holidays. It doesn't matter what else we are having, corn must be on the table!

  • 24 Hour Salad

A long-standing family tradition. If there is no 24 hour salad, it simply isn't a proper holiday feast! Very similar to my recipe. I use lemon juice rather than vinegar for the custard base. We don't use the coconut, either, as most folks here dont like it. Make a day ahead and watch it vanish!

  • Whole cranberry relish

2 bags frozen cranberries, 2 cups sugar, 2 cups water, boil until jell. That's it!

  • Lemon Meringue Pie

We love homemade lemon pie. Mmmmmmm. DS2 is the lemon pie king so he will be up early in the morning, cooking up a storm.

  • Pumpkin pie

The pie from the Libby's pumpkin can.

  • Dripping gravy

Just the usual... pan drippings from the capon.

  • Stuffing

Sage, onion and herb stuffing in the bird and also a casserole.
